Decent plan but fortunately for us we have 5,000+ fans who were willing to drop $1,500/ticket for a 10-year reservation fee.
Come 2028 when that contract expires and it is time to renew, they will have 10 years of data and can make a decision at that time on which way to go. However, as long as people are willing to pony up that kind of cash, the athletic department will continue to sell the season tickets, 100% guaranteed. Only option would be to expand the stadium, and those might sell out too. At that point, there is no solution, unless you want to build a third deck.
I get it. So, that's $150 dollars per seat for the year on top of the ticket price. I talked to a friend of mine and they paid $400 per ticket for a chairback seat. That's only $550 per seat per year we would need to make up. I counted 36 home games on the schedule and that only comes out to $15.27 per seat for a game. You could charge 20 bucks per seat on a first come first serve basis and make more money than what we are now. Unless I'm missing something, math wasn't my strength. That way you wouldn't lose money AND you'd put butts in seats. Now, I'm not saying we should totally do away with season tickets but we could reduce the number without losing money.
