Would Pope take Oweh back? I’m not sure how I feel about that if he becomes eligible. Do we need another 2-guard slasher or a big 4/5 guy who can help down low? It would be hard to pass on Oweh, but how much NIL would he ask for?

You know what they call trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different result? I’m not even gonna say it.

Of course we would take him back. How is that even a question. It would be awesome to see him play with a real point guard and a real 2 playing the 2. The guy is a beast. The ONLY one we have had for the last 2 years.
I'd put Amari and Lamont in that same category with OO but yeah unreal how some people wouldn't want him back. Oweh didn't have the start to the season we wanted and had some bad body language during that stretch. But dang, the dude was tearing into the SEC and just had one of the best NCAA performances in UK history.
I don't have faith in Pope but Oweh put to rest any discussions about him being an issue a long time ago in my eyes.

If we get Stokes or an impact 3 I don't see how we can also take Oweh plus play Kam and Hawthorne enough to keep them happy and justify their nil $.
If we cannot land an impacting 3 then I can see the attraction to Oweh being back.

Seriously tho. For me, it comes down to the head coach.

I'd love to see Oweh come back with a serious coach at the helm of the team. With a few other good players around him. He's a good player.

But another year? of this?? Another year of Pope and Oweh?? Do we have to? That sounds awful

If Oweh were to return, the probability we have a stronger backcourt than the last is high. Diallo and Aberdeen were comparable last season. Oweh is Oweh. Improvement from Diallo with one of Wilkins/Hawthorne/Williams stepping up would put us in a good spot in the backcourt and wing.

Have similar feelings toward OO too ala kat.
Great talent but had the feeling this season that he is more of a “Me” guy than a “We” guy. Allow him another go and I wonder how he would mesh with the new hires!

Oweh has far more negatives than positives.

So that means Pope would absolutely take him back.
“Fans” wanting Oweh back is an indictment on their basketball IQ, and not in a positive way!

One of the worst “teammates” to ever wear the Blue and White.

The Oweh hate will always be a question mark for me. Guy went crazy for two years doing all he could for BBN.

He wasn't a cancer in year one. He wasn't a problem year two. It was all the other guys Pope added to the team. Imagine playing two years of college ball at UK without a point guard.

Aberdeen was the problem. He was the one killing team chemistry. Half of the team didn't want to be here last year and BBN wants to say Oweh was a problem?

Mark Pope was and is the problem if we are being honest. If oweh didn't come back we would of lost more than 20 games and Mark Pope most definitely would have been fired.

The great majority of the UK fanbase would be THRILLED to have Oweh for another season. He tried to do too much last year (and accomplished most of it) because a) we didn't have a pg and b) we were undermanned. Throw him into his natural spot with our two incoming guards and he'll be even more effective, possibly 1st team AA. The team chemistry thing was him and Aberdeen/Mo D. Since we know Oweh was fine the year before, I choose to believe those two guys killed the chemistry.

I do not want Oweh back… poor leadership skills in my opinion. Time to move on. If he comes back then this will be Popes last season
How can you (or anyone) say that about any player, unless you were at practices and in huddles. For all we know it was Aberdeen or MoD. I think Oweh realized in late Dec this team was not going to score enough unless he put us on his shoulders offensively, so that's what he tried to do. Unfortunately just 1 guy like that is not enough.

I am not a facial expression, or body language believer.

He didn't have the start of the season we wanted/expected, BECAUSE (I believe) of his foot injury keeping him out of practice much of the fall. So it took him some time to trust he wasn't going to reinjure it and get "back in his groove".

Oweh has been nothing but loyal. Imagine playing a season with a player that really wants to be on a team that beat you all season. See how quick Aberdeen went back to florida? He was never a Cat. And oweh was The cat. I can see where there would be issues. Trying to win games with the enemy. Oweh deserves better from BBN. I wouldn't come back if I was him

I don't think you understand team concept he would ruin any chance of playing as a team.Time for him to go somewhere else.

I remember there were times players wouldn't even pass the ball to each other for a wide open shot. Aberdeen was usually the one not passing or not getting passed to. It was obvious.

Go all the way back to summer workouts and see how Aberdeen was to himself in every picture. He was outrageously overpaid and it went to his head. Notice the todd golden remarks. He wasn't about to pay Aberdeen that. He came got a pay check with minimum effort and went back home. He's worse than any prima donna we ever had for one year.
