In answer to your question yes. It is anti Cal because he doesn't "push" anyone out the door. You are a fool to believe that Cal wouldn't want these guys to stay for four years. Hell, maybe he should red shirt these freshmen so they could get another year of experience? If you believe that he pushes kids out then please explain to me how the Harrisons, Willy, Briscoe and other stuck around?
If someone disagrees with Cal's OAD system doesn't constitute they're a hater of Cal. I am sure most of you fans who see has Cal can do no wrong are probably the same fans who were saying he was dirty and didn't want him when he came from Memphis. I know for a fact Cal told Goodwin he should come back. Not sure about Teague, Lamb, or Dakari but I know that Cal always gets feedback from NBA GMs and then gives them his honest opinion, while saying that the ball is still in their court and he will support them and their decision.

There is not one instance of any proof he pushes them out the door. He give them info and lets them decide. That's not pushing them. He supports their decision.

The only way to stop this cycle is reduce the scholarships available for the best by recruiting less than the very best. With fewer offers...the very best will then play against UK.

I wonder how much Cal refers to guys like Dakari, James Young, Archie Goodwin, Marquis Teague, Daniel Orton and the rest of our less than successful NBA players that have left early when he talks to players that are considering going to the NBA. It's great we have so many alums in the NBA with a lot being successful. However, I think some players think they're the next John Wall or DeMarcus Cousins. The reality is they may be the next guy out of the league in 3 seasons.
If you're projected to go in the lottery, you have to leave. They don't owe UK anything. However, if you're late in the first round I think they should stay. It's safer to develop at UK and perhaps improve draft stock than go and compete against NBA players when the college player isn't ready. It's a quick way to get buried on the bench or D-League and never really having a chance to be a successful pro. Instead, they can develop some more skills in college that will have them better prepared to compete against the pros. We've gotten burned with some guys leaving that probably shouldn't have left. If we can get a couple of those guys to stay for an extra 1-3 years, we'll be in great shape.

No, it's obvious you're the one who doesn't know squat about basketball. Calipari doesn't have the best players every year, he has many (sometimes most) of the best freshmen every year. Big difference.
But I understand. You're just confused because Calipari does such an unbelievable job at getting freshmen to play on par with upperclassmen by March every year.

A 2nd year JUCO player, now a senior, who is a specialist role player, and a shooter, typically what our fans want the most of (Mulder)
A sophomore who is a long term project player but got minutes to develop and is improving (Humphries).
On paper this is exactly the kind of recipe and makeup of the team you'd want. I have no idea how you can complain about the construction of this roster.

Very much agree. This team had the pieces you need to win it all. It's just rarely, RARELY going to happen with 3 Freshman starters. The NCAA systems is a mess, as is basketball in general with so much power in the hands of referees. I'm done stressing out about it. See ya next year.

If you can't see that he gets the kids, that you want to keep for 2 years, by telling them he will leave their wish to go pro after 1 year up to them, then I don't know what to tell you. Yes, it would be awesome to keep kids for 2 years that can go first round in the draft after 1 year, but that's unrealistic and would undermine Cal's recruiting success. Would you prefer to see these kids at Kansas or Duke or UNC? They're going to commit to someone, and they're going pro regardless of which school they attend.
Cal worked a miracle to get this team to 32 wins and elite eight.
I can just provide that they both have very very good, talented teams year after year but just have one title.
The only unhappy people I know of are the ones who expect to go 40-0 every year with an average margin of victory of 56 ppg.
I have a good friend who is an IU fan. She hates UK. She hates Cal. She said she'd KILL to go to six elite 8s, four final fours, 2 title games with one championship in 8 years. The unhappy people are either spoiled brats or delusional.

Self is 2-7 in Elite 8s and has one title and 2 Final Fours in 14 years at KU.
Cal is 4-2 in Elite 8s with one title and four FFs in 8 years at UK.

cal's tournament losses are to two national champions, the BE regular season & tournament champion when people were calling it the strongest league EVER, a wisconsin team that was one of the most efficient offenses in history, a big 10 champ, and yesterday
he also has great wins as a lower seed against wichita st, louisville, ohio state, academic fraud, and michigan

There is so much wrong with the premise that they are becoming one and the same.
Because they both have just one title does not make them on equal footing. It does in that one aspect only.
And in that one regard.............those of you blaming Cal's style of recruiting for producing just one title............you do realize that the best team ends up eventual national champion probably less than 50% of the time? Right?
As much as I love March Madness and the excitement of the NCAA tournament, it probably isn't the most accurate way to decide who should be national champions. Not that I'm promoting changing it - it wouldn't happen anyway.
I have accepted the OAD. My wish is for Cal to recruit by need and position. Seems as tho we are always unbalanced, too many guards, thin on front court or vice versus. This year no reliable 4 and zero 3. And it cost us a FF.
That said Cal does a helluva job with what he has, but why does he always have this balance problem?
