Anti-Cal's System Fans Post Here

I'm not anti cal at all but I can disagree with some of the things he does.
We got the best coach in the business. If you disagree with what he's done, you don't know squat.
I don't think you are following the rules of this thread, but it's typical...
I'm not sure how anyone can legit put this loss today on Cal. UNC just made more plays down the stretch, hit some tough (lucky) shots and sometimes **** happens.
Is it anti-Cal to wish he wouldn't push every single guy out the door so that we could build the depth it will take to win titles? Just wondering about the rules of what we're allowed to think here. TIA!
If you can't see that he needs to start trying to keep some of his freshmen for more than one year then you better get used to these losses in the tournament.
I like Cal. I hate OAD's. We'll always be really good but OAD laden teams HAVE to have an unbelievably great player like AD. They don't come along often which is why I think we'll be a top 10 team every year with a lot of Sweet 16 and Elite 8 teams but no more NC's in the Cal era.
It has nothing to do with his ability or achievements--- cal has been great.
But if I am honest- I don't like the OAD system. I don't like the annual purge. I like following players for a few years.
I know that is the state of the game, but cats obviously very invested in it.

He doesn't though. You are making **** up.
Now there have been guys that have ignored Cal's advice and left like Teague, Lamb, Liggins, Orton, Goodwin, etc.
Every coach, including Cal, could make some adjustments. I wouldn't cry if we had a few more experienced players.
Look at the end of your post though. There are hundreds of other teams keeping players longer, just like you wish. Why isn't one of them dominating - or even keeping up with Cal's flawed system?

I think rebounding is often the most important aspect of the game, and UNC dominated it in a game that was decided by 2 points. If we get 3-4 more rebounds, it's a completely different conversation. And you simply can't make guys go up higher than the UNC guys. This year, they had the trees.

I am totally fine with critiquing Cal's decisions and in game coaching, Lord knows I do that myself.

I just think he needs to change up his recruiting.. Instead of all 5*s,, try to convince some to come and stay 2,, 3,, 4 years at least.. 4*s and 3*s mixed in..

I know it is awful to go to the Elite 8 6 out of 8 years. You know we had 3 stars sit out the first half right? I am sorry he cares about the kids he coaches
You have the "best recruiter" in the business so obviously you don't know squat! Never won at UMASS, never won at Memphis and won only one here with the best players every year!
It's so silly you are right. That's half our fan base though. Basketball IQ is not their specialty. Just bc they root for the best tradition ever doesn't mean they know squat about the game. It's sad
