Yep!We play 2 teams (maybe) this year with quality personnel
the others are worse than the G5 team we just lost to
But West lovers will still tell you that Minny, Iowa, Purdue, Indiana and Illinois are filled with crazy talent.

Jc, I didn't say he wasn't any good. Learn to actually read. None of our RB's can hit a cutback is all I said. Grant is shifty as hell and if he finds a hole in the assigned one, he can make people miss. But I would say RB's like Ameer and Rex were better at identifying holes faster and hitting them. They're shifty in different ways, and I'd still pick Ameer and probably Burkhead above him at this point. Can you imagine if Grant were any good? He would have about 800 yards now. And Applewhite hasn’t done anything with our 3rd and 4th stringers, so he sucks too.
If only we had the players and coaches to be successful, I guess… smh.
^exactly this. Having this running back duo last year would have really helped us outThe performance of Grant and Allen thus far is allowing the passing offense to get something done. NU can win some games if the defense can just go from being terrible to mediocre.
On grants biggest runs, they're all our almost all are cut backs though? Certainly not the planned or assigned gap he was supposed to hit...Jc, I didn't say he wasn't any good. No they're not. He goes to the assigned hole and only then does he attempt to use his agility in space. On grants biggest runs, they're all our almost all are cut backs though? Certainly not the planned or assigned gap he was supposed to hit...
Not at all what I've seenNo they're not. He goes to the assigned hole and only then does he attempt to use his agility in space.
Too bad you are ignoring Oldjar. He has posted a very polite and thoughtful response to your message. Lol.Can you imagine if Grant were any good? He would have about 800 yards now. And Applewhite hasn’t done anything with our 3rd and 4th stringers, so he sucks too.

If he even wants a crack at the NFL he will leave, and he should. He can’t wait at that position. That said, he could also just take the NIL money he can get here.Grant will leave after this year for sure…
Doesn't look like it, it was a direct response to me. He's done the same thing numerous times in the past.Too bad you are ignoring Oldjar. He has posted a very polite and thoughtful response to your message. Lol.
What’s funny is that if he is so bent on not reading my posts, I don’t know why he doesn’t just ignore me. It’s peaceful not reading his garbage takes. If he doesn’t want to read mine, why not ignore?Too bad you are ignoring Oldjar. He has posted a very polite and thoughtful response to your message. Lol.
We finally have a good two man rotation that can get in a rhythm. What a silver lining this kid is. How long have we been clamoring for an RB like this? I hope he turns this into a 1st Team All-B1G year. And Ajay is a future star. Love what Applewhite is doing
This is correct. Ajay also had a major cut back that about went the distance against GASO. Our backs are seeing the cutbacks well and there are plenty of clips on Twitter that demonstrate this.On grants biggest runs, they're all our almost all are cut backs though? Certainly not the planned or assigned gap he was supposed to hit...
Quit the crap, you posted right after me, and it's obvious your post was a direct response to mine. It's obvious you read my posts and aren't doing a very good job of ignoring me, unfortunately. What’s funny is that if he is so bent on not reading my posts, I don’t know why he doesn’t just ignore me. Yep. Thank god he hit the cut back.#2 took 49 to school there
AJ was 8 rushes for 76 yards, a 9.5 ypc avg, with a TD in that last game. His stats continue to improve through the first 3 games. I think it's silly what you're arguing. We have the best 1/2 rb combination that we have had in a very long time. Since maybe Burkhead/Helu days. The #3 & #4 guys are excellent depth too. There isn't much to be complaining about in the rb room imo.For the one he hit, he missed 10 more.
@redwine65 (among others like @leodisflowers) was banging the Ajay Allen drum loudly this off-seasonAJ was 8 rushes for 76 yards, a 9.5 ypc avg, with a TD in that last game. So was I. Still haven't played anybody of note yet. I'd like to see what they can do against a real team in Oklahoma before casting judgment one way or another.@redwine65 (among others) was banging the Ajay Allen drum loudly this off-season
good call, he looks the part alongside Grant
yep, @itseasyas1-2-3 was also banging the AJ drum as well.@redwine65 (among others like @leodisflowers) was banging the Ajay Allen drum loudly this off-season

Yeah but he also made a long post about how good our defense would be Winkingyep, @itseasyas1-2-3 was also banging the AJ drum as well.
With a really good OL, he might win the Heisman. Is he good or has our o-line just been that good? Or both?
I'll own it, and even give you a like. We still have a long way to go.Yeah but he also made a long post about how good our defense would be Winking
Seriously, Reggie Bush 2.0? This is the stuff I'm talking about. The hyperbole is ridiculous already when they've only played 3 games against crap competition.I'll own it, and even give you a like. We still have a long way to go.
Stymieing model characteristics who've not being given an opportunity leads to what the defense has become.
Seeing potential, especially untapped potential is what I look for. If Mickey and the crew can unlock some of their true potential.....
That's why AJ looks like Reggie Bush 2.0 Of course, injuries, not mastering the mental or blocking aspects can stop them in their tracks. Having a great model like Anthony Grant to aspire to will benefit AJ.
I'm still convinced NU has a lot of kids who can run and really play who have been buried on the bench and not being given an equal chance.
I’ll admit I gave zero consideration to Ajay seeing significant time given the room, even after rumors of his talent at camp. I was genuinely shocked when he played against Northwestern while Rhamir/Ervin rode pine.@redwine65 (among others like @leodisflowers) was banging the Ajay Allen drum loudly this off-season

You still looking for AJ to redshirt, or was that a different BuckysBoys?Grant has been great. Allen has been really good. Our o line can't Blick anybody. My concern with Grant is the cut back moves he makes. He jams his legs into the ground multiple times on runs to make his cuts and I'm concerned about a knee injury. Hope I'm wrong but it's a bit concerning.
I never claimed anybody would redshirt. He's our #2 rb he will play in the next 9 games barring injury. I will say he needs to spend a bunch of time in the weight room,. His upper body hasn't got much muscle. You still looking for AJ to redshirt, or was that a different BuckysBoys?
I know someone with a similar name was matter of fact that AJ would redshirt.I never claimed anybody would redshirt. He's our #2 rb he will play in the next 9 games barring injury. I will say he needs to spend a bunch of time in the weight room,. His upper body hasn't got much muscle.
You’re absolutely right, I peaked at your post. And you’re a hypocrite. You say in this post you want to see what they can do against a real team without casting judgment while all you’ve been doing in this thread is judging them as terrible at finding the cutback. So was I. Still haven't played anybody of note yet. I'd like to see what they can do against a real team in Oklahoma before casting judgment one way or another.
Yeah can't say that's a surprise. Also, what I said wasn't even remotely hypocritical. None of our RB's are good at hitting a cutback lane, and that's a fact. Just because you found a couple clips showing the one time they did it doesn't mean that they haven't been missing a lot more opportunities. And yeah, they got a big chunk of yards on those plays, the cutback works just like I said. You’re absolutely right, I peaked at your post. And you’re a hypocrite. You say in this post you want to see what they can do against a real team without casting judgment while all you’ve been doing in this thread is judging them as terrible at finding the cutback.
Waiting to judge them til you see what they can do against a real team means not saying anything until after Saturday.
You think you are the smartest guy in the room even though EVERYONE else is calling you out. Own it. You missed the boat on this one, like you have so many others. You aren’t as smart as you think you are.
