Allen wants that rematch

Top 5 offense in country last year. Defense was the problem. Cal's teams have finished in Top 25 in offensive efficiency all but 2 years ('13 and '21). Finished Top 5 five times. His best teams have been balanced (obviously).

Defense was definitely the Achilles heel last year.

I am so glad that someone on this board sees this lol.

Confidence means a lot for a shooter and Cal pretty much took that away from DA.

There is only one DA in UK basketball and that is Derek Anderson.

And the guy got green lights to jack up 3s whenever he played against ooc cupcakes. He choked, plain and simple. He then quit on the team by refusing to go in.

The endless defense on the 12th man by so many on this board just because he had the fortune (or misfortune) of being born in a specific state is amusing.

You will find out the Allen is more then a spot up shooter. He will average double digits at Western.

Took away his confidence by giving him multiple opportunities to play? I hope he plays well at WKU but Allen showed absolutely nothing at UK last year.

Everyone assuring us UK would smoke WKU should remember 2 things. Never discount a team playing with a chip on their shoulder. And the ability of a Cal coached team to be totally disinterested in playing that team.

Everyone has forgottten the shade Huggy threw at Oscar when he left WV.

Everyone missing the obvious solution to the play U6 or WKU question. Tell them both that you will play each, on alternate years, at Rupp. But the offer only extends for 2 weeks, need your answer now. And if you want an home and home, the first one who agrees to a 2 home 1 away gets the contract. At the end of 3 years we offer both them the same deal. Continue indefinitely.

He played in 19 games at 7 min per game.
During that strech he shot 29.4% from the field, and 18.9% from 3. He's a 3 point specialist who pretty much can't do anything else. Now if that was up 35-38% he would have got plenty of run, if you can only shoot but you can't make them why would you play?
I will say this He didn’t do well with the chance He had, but I still don’t think it was much of a chance. WKU will play zone some so He can stay on the game and I believe He will do fine!

Last thing he wants is to match up with Wallace or Livingston.

Both are tenacious physical defenders who wouldn't give him space.

He has no prayer of slowing either down getting to the rim and Sharp won't be back there to help this year

You know that how?
Multiple people I believe know what goes on have all said this. He was not a gym rat. And that’s fine if that’s what he wants but if he wanted to play more he needed to work harder. I do hope he does well at WKU.

The way the Coach and fans treated him I don’t blame him
How did fans treat him bad? From what I saw most people on this board was mad he wasn't getting playing time the last 2 seasons. To be honest it was one of the biggest points of contention between Cal and fans and the main reason the blasted fans by saying he knows more than we do.

Sharp announced today that he is coming back to WKU. Depending on how well the guards mesh with each other I think we can be dangerous this coming year.
I didn’t see that, that’s big for wku then will they have any good players on the perimeter

Better get a new coach then. He's never been anything but average

It's almost a guarantee that Allen lights us up for 30.
Well, if he is unguarded, maybe. I pulled for Allen but honestly over the last part of the season, he looked disinterested both on the floor and on the bench. I wish him well but he is just not that good of a player. If they are not on the schedule now, I doubt if we ever play WKU while he is there. I wish we played them every year along with EKU and Murray.

Yea no, Allen had numerous chances and was bad in all of them
Yeah but the reason DA was so bad was because he knew his fate already! It didn’t matter if he scored 23 or 14 or layed a goose egg 🥚 that his *** was gonna find a way back over to that bench eventually for whatever reason Cal came up with. It’s like with Hopkins and Cal saying that he was forced to play him some mins now and then only thing was he didn’t play no more damn mins and Cal only gives guys superficial opportunities usually. Cal just gets comfortable with certain guys and he sticks with em and if you not in his top 7-8 then why the hell even put your shorts or jersey on under your warmup once conference season starts. Hell it’s hard for guys to be motivated to play when they know how the coach’s really are behind the scenes and the attitude towards them. Dontaie had a good feel for what was going on .

Everybody who says he can’t play here is entitled to that opinion , but he played here and won a game for this UK team who was playing in SEC conf that night and not the OVC if I recall correctly.

That point about him looking over his shoulder is true. But Allen is also not what a lot of people think he is. He is limited in what he can do. Western ky is a good spot for him and probably where he should have been to begin with
