I can't blame it all on Coach Cal like a lot of y'all are, mostly because the players have to make the plays when it counts, n i think the twins and willie came up short after they came back after losin to uconn last year. I can blame Cal a little bit on not getting it to KAT in the post like we did vs notre dame, it seems like he scores 95% of the time when he gets the ball down low, I'm disappointed how it seemed like the twins got us like 3 shot clock violations in a row with air balls, when to me, the ball has to go to our most efficient player Towns in that situation, I think Cal should have told the team that after the first shot clock, that and switching when our guards were geting beat with and-ones is his two major mistakes.
I remember in 2010 after losing to wvu I was lookin at posts on here and it just seemed like most people we're bagging on Cal and his coaching ability sayin if he couldn't win it with that talent he never will, but that 2010 team was very streaky shooting as well as on defense, compared to this team which I thought was much better mostly because their defense could win games for them when they weren't shooting well. I can't blame that loss on Cal then either bc like I said the players have to make the plays, and 2 nba all-stars in Wall n Cousins came up short as well as Bledsoe, Paterson, and Miller, who all are playing in the league right now, I mean hat was just terrible shooting n I cant blame the coach for telling them to keep shooting wide open 3s, I think they went like 0 for 20 until the final few minutes when weak @$$ Darnell Dodson finally hits one.(not trying to be mean but Dodson was supposed to come in and be a knock down long range shooter, but he wasn't good at all n I think Cal told him to transfer the next year 2011)
But I'm not gonna lie I am really disappointed n kinda depressed man, cuz I don't see us ever coming this close to 40-0 again, or any other college team coming that close either, I thought this team was special, but they will always go down as one of the best teams to come up short on a championship. You never know about Cal he may have a undefeated season up his sleeve but like before this season even started many were talking about goin 40-0, I mean I don't know another coach in the world that could have brought this program back to the mountain top as quickly as Calipari, I mean we're right there with a chance to win it all every year and you gotta give Cal a lot of credit for that!
And my last most important point is that the reason we lost is because of the refs! I normally don't blame refs after a loss, but to me it seemed like they did everything they could to keep us from winning! I think they were pitiful and the ncaa should be embarassed foreal. They gave that game to Wisconsin IMO, they would not call a foul on them for nothin, and that missed shot clock violation when it was in Nigel Hayes hand as the shot clock hit zero I could easily see it from my living room on the tv, how the refs miss that or atleast blow their whistle so they could check it is just crazy to me? Anybody watching that game could see Wisconsin didn't get that OFF! That lost the game IMO take away that basket and UK has the ball up 2 in the final few minutes, and Dekker probably doesn't hit that huge step back 3 on lyles to put them up 3, and even if he does hit it, that shot only puts them up one, and we win then I believe. It's a real shame to me this team won't be in the discussion for possibly the best team of all time, cuz I remind you nobody in the 3 point era has ever made the championship game undefeated, and this team and 91 UNLV are the only 2 to make the final four undefeated, the 3 pointer really made games a lot harder to win and revolutionized the sport, which is pretty obvious, to me atleast.
Yea this suuucckks, but makin the final four undefeated, only the 2nd team to do it since introducing the 3 point line is not too shabby! I mean it hurts bein so close but atleast we hang up another banner in Rupp. Go Big Blue!
