Phenomenal recruiter - by far the best in today's college game. But Calipari - actually the entire coaching staff - has been out-coached in the final games of each of the last two seasons.

Cal's decision to stall with us up by 4 allowed Wisky to go on a 12-2 run to end the game. YOU DON'T GIVE UP MOMENTIUM WILLINGLY!
For all his talk of being aggressive, he abandoned it late in the game. Why???

lol

outside of Dekker's three, they earned exactly zero of those points

as for the stall ball, the problem was Andrew and a few other guys driving to get fouled instead of driving to score. If you watch, Cal screams at them for doing this all the time, and they still do it. They were great early in the game and reverted back.

There's a reason Cal won AP coach of the year. There's a reason our Cats have been in the Final Four four times in the last 5 years.

And there is a reason we lost tonight. All the reasons are the same person. None of them cancel the other out.

I agree with the OP as well. When it was 60-56 we didn't score again for 4:30. Three bad possessions in a row. Cal absolutely deserves the blame for this.

I'd prefer it to be Cal, and I'd prefer he learn from this mistake, which he has been making for nearly a decade.

So, now what? Why the false equivalences and straw men? I know you aren't really this thick skulled. When you complain that your child keeps refusing to clean their room does it mean you want to replace them for another kid? Come on.

God willing, he will sign on to Rupp's Rafters and learn something from your wisdom.

Very true. If you can't win this much talent, not sure you can win another one. This season this team had one goal, a National Championship. No way to spin this IMO, this was a failure in coaching and I absolutely love Cal. He failed this team and his players tonight.

Yup, hopefully he sticks around, mans up, and learns from his mistake. However, considering he clearly didn't after it cost him a championship in Memphis I doubt he will now. I HOPE he does, but until I hear him admit his own failure I won't hold my breath.

Here we go giving the Media the Reason Kentucky Fans are the worse in NCAA Basketball. We go 38-0 and leading by 4 with 3minutes and you want to blame it all on Coach Cal! We really shouldn't be 38-0 this year and would that made it easier tonight for you if we were not undefeated. I just don't think we need to Blame all of this on Coach Cal!

Absolutely took us out of it. I was wondering why Ulis wasn't in there, but of course Cal was gonna have the twins in no matter what. Each one threw up an airball from the paint during that stretch.

Cal's grind tactic cost him a title at Memphis, nearly cost us in 2012, and cost us tonight.

Another wasted opportunity. 1/6 in Final Fours is Cal, not real impressive.

Uh, were you watching the game? The media (commentators) were the ones questioning his stall ball strategy.
It was bad strategy and he has a history of doing exactly what he did tonight. I don't really see what the problem is here.

He failed miserably at the end. I don't blame none of the players because they were told to do that. So the people who bashing the twins for the prayers should be looking at Cal, for putting them in that spot.

Ulis also needed to be in there during that stretch. I can't believe how he botched it.

stall ball has nothing to do with a harrison forcing shots, airballs, and not getting it to anyone that is open. They had to be heroes and it bit us.

I am not trying to confuse anyone with my viewpoints and I am just as sick as the next fan. I am just saying like coach Cal said last weekend vs. Notre Dame after we pulled that one out that there has been several games that the other team played well and we could have lost. There was at least 4 or 5 SEC games that we could have easily lost this year. I feel when we were up by 4 with 3 to go the team didn't execute well. Even if we take it down to the last 5 Seconds of shot clock we still need to get a shot off. If we execute that well and hit a 2 or 3 and go up by 6 or 7 we wouldn't be discussing this right now. I just don't believe its all Coach Cal.

Haha. Love to see you guys coach this team.

Cal is an excellent coach. He led this team to 38-0. Go ahead and run him off. Heard Tubby or Gillespie is interested in taking the job again.

Nobody wants anybody else...two things...Ulis should have been in with twins ...Andrew is not a great shooter from 4' out. Watch last years Wiscgame he nearly lost that one with same shots. Aaron bailed him out. Would much rather had Booker Aaron orcUlis taking shots

@BDawsonRivals: Tyler Ulis says UK's 38-0 start means "nothing" after tonight. Said the whole season feels like "a waste."

I can't believe people are truly this dense.

Is it impossible to want Cal to get us to 38-0 AND to simultaneously not want him to go to stall ball in the Final Four? I mean, logically I think we can want both of those things. I there something I'm missing that makes the two logically incongruent? If so, please educate me. I'm here to learn.

I don't know how anyone can argiue that taking the air out of the ball cost us the game. It clearly did. We had several empty possessions because we sat on the ball.

Cal has been to 6 Final Fours and won one of them. 1 for 6, math is pretty easy.

Kentucky didn't execute. Wisconsin got some calls and executed as well.

For those that keep saying there wasn't a "stall strategy" in play, please explain why at that exact point our guards started walking the ball to half court instead of aggressively passing the ball up the floor. Wisconsin wasn't offering any resistance because they were tired and were simply trying to protect the lane. After numerous walking trips up the court, Wisconsin was allowed to recover and our players started feeling the pressure. We simply started playing a style that Wisconsin was very pleased to see.

You cannot place all of the blame on Cal, but the stall ball tactic finally caught up with us. Wisconsin played a good game and stayed on the attack, we got up 4 and took the air out of the ball. We were out hustled and nobody stepped up in crunch time, we had several games this year we should have lost, tonight we didn't bring our best and we got beat.

Look, I'm as pissed as anyone else. I'd rather lose to Notre Dame than these f*ing Wisconsin sh*ts.

But I'm sure as hell not going to lose sight that without Calipari, we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

Thank God for UK, thank God for Big Blue, and thank God for Cal.

Hoo boy. Not what I wanted to hear from him.

If that's the case I'd tell him that his players seem to get tight and play stall ball a whole lot in close games and have been doing it for many, many years and he might want to look into the cause of that. OR at least correct it during timeout. Something. But hey, I'm not a coach ya know.
