Alabama's dynasty is cracking

Alabama has now lost 3 out of the last 4 national title games. They no longer bring in the top classes in the country every year. They should have lost to Auburn and not even make the playoffs this year.

Saban is 70 years old.

And Saban lost two former coaches in the same season. He never lost to a former coach of his until this season.

His team this year and some major issues. Never really dominated at any point this season besides the conference title game.

I know people will post things like...they will win the national title next year...they will be in the playoff next year...blah blah blah. The point is, the dynasty is slowing and cracking. The end is near and that will be a great thing for college football.

What a numbnut. If they have their 2 wideouts this game is probably another *** beating.....

If only Nebraska could be that bad.

So is it better to have gotten there and not won or not get there at all?

Cracks or no cracks, these were the two best teams in college FB this year.

They say this every time Saban loses a game.
They should have lost to Florida and Auburn to go with their loss to A&M. They aren't as deep as they used to be. He made some bad hires for coaches. He will be 71 years old. He is getting beat at the very top on a more consistent basis now. The slide downard has started. Not that long from now they will have a new head coach and Alabama will never be the same ever again the rest of our lives.

In the last two years, he's been in both title games, won one, and had both Heisman trophy winners. Yeah, I think he's just fine.

I don't think bama is in bad shape, at all...but I wonder if I will see one of their fans saying the sky is fallen.

They just went to the National Championship game, led by 5 with 7 minutes left, they return the Heisman Trophy winner next year. Saban will coach until he’s 80. With the likely playoff format likely increasing teams in the war future, Alabama will not miss a playoff until 2030.

NIL is going to help curb certain schools from becoming long lasting dynasties. We already know the $EC has been paying players for years and years. Now, players have the ability to legally make similar money at other schools. That's why Saban and Smart were crying about NIL and the transfer portal during this week's press conferences. When 80% and 84% of your roster is filled with 4 and 5 star recruits, you don't want other schools to be able to offer the same things, or even more than you do.

No it's not really. They have won 7 titles in 13 years and have been to the last 2 title games. They have the Heisman trophy winner and probably the best couple of defenders in the nation. You have no idea what you are talking about.

College FBS dynasties are the HC's only. Look at the history of successful programs and when the HC leaves, there goes the program. With Alabama, it happened with the Bear and then resurrected under Saban. Bama will wither under the sun and the next dynasty will be who gets the hot coach. Lather, rinse, repeat...

Don’t give me that excuse, Alabama has all those 4,5 star kids can’t believe they didn’t have someone waiting in the wings
They’re facing a team that recruits on their level. Yeah, losing their top two WRs doesn’t matter against most teams. Against their recruiting equal it does.

Lost their two best WRs and still almost won it
Saban lost this game when he lost 2 all American caliber wideouts....

and this is precisely the point. Use to be the back-ups Bama had were better than the other teams starters. Last night Bama’s back-up receivers looked like back-up receiver and not Smith coming in for Jeudy.

They lack at skill position more than I’ve seen in a while. And when you say “without there 2 star receivers”. Well they will probably miss them now for ever cause those two will go in the draft. So what’s the answer next year? Freshman? Transfer?

Of course they are still loaded and will be a really good team, I just don’t know if they will be great.

Wrong and totally disagree think hard why is losing 3 of 4 national title games a sign of broken dynasty……

Nobody else is getting to the national title game..

They did. The guys that were out there were damned good. While antirowboat is normally running outside the base paths, I do think there is some merit to the idea that Bama is slipping. They lost to A$M. Now they just got beaten like a rented mule in this game. IF not for that walk on starting QB for Georgia going full on Adrian Martinez on that fumble, this game isn't close at all. I'm not saying Bama still isn't a great team. They are. They've got NFL players all over the field. I just think that maybe Nick has lost a little of the mystique and Kirby has things rolling at Georgia. Some NFL team is going to do their damnedest to try to hire Kirby.

Cracking? They lost a game they probably would have won without injuries. The sport is getting hard to watch cuz it's the same 3-4 teams every freaking year. Nothing healthy about it.

True or false: Alabama is in the playoff next year?

If you answered true then you believe Alabama is 60 minutes from playing for the championship NEXT year. That is not a crumbling empire.

It’s Ludicrous when you think how many times Alabama been one of the teams in the playoffs since 2014 and have won the title 6 times since 2009 and in the title game 9 times..

Eh.. You can play this both ways. In the first half Alabamas D was dominating except for 2 big plays. Bama also missed a couple of major opportunities to score TD's early when it was open. If that game is 21-6 at half it might be a whole different ball game. Either way, the Dawgs got it done, but Bama will be fine. They are loaded and return the Heisman trophy winner..

Georgia was at full strength with no injury issues at all. Bama was without more than 2 AA type WRs after Williams went down. They were already without one of their top D tackles, and I believe two O line starters either couldn't go or played injured. Yet, they had the ball at about midfield with a chance to force overtime in the championship game. I thought all season that their achilees' heel on defense has been their secondary, and that proved to be the case yesterday. You can bet Sabin will make changes there before next season.

They are already projected as the early favorite to win it all next year, so I find talk of cracks in the dynasty to be a little premature.

I wonder if Dabo will replace Saben when he retires in the next few years. Don't know all the particulars regarding Swinney's contract with Clemson but you know Alabama will throw everything they have at him to become the Tides next HC.

I think bama will always be decent just because of their tradition and fans, much like 0u.
but they may slide a bit from the top. due to sec under the table payments being neutralized
by everybody now being allowed to do over the table payments.

we will see how this plays out over the next 4-5 years of nil transfer establishment.

if lincoln riley can job search, recruit current 0u players and recruits during the season to usc.
and have assistant coaches do the same...and the ncaa see's nothing...
I don't think the ncaa will have the wherewithal, to detect 100 plus schools going after the bama, ohio state, etc...5 star benches with nil prizes.

I know some get into coach worshiping mode, but bury switzer was right about 1 thing...
you have to have the jimmy's and joe's
