We need to do a RR BBQ at my farm. Central location in South Central KY. Anyone I've ever banned or deleted their post can extract their revenge.
That would be awesome .... I would love to see everyone and enjoy a day of Rafters madness !

Dud. Nothing to hide. I simply don't care anymore. Need to get healthier and kick some bad habits. But I like those habits.

Grew up in the country… but currently live in city limits for the first time in my life… had to get used to neighbors freaking out if the dog isn’t on the leash. My dog will give em big ol licks if he gets loose while theirs gets off and tries to attack kids and any small animal in the neighborhood. Good ol city life. Well more like small community.

I love it. My grandfather bought it in 1930 for $900. I bought it 2 years ago. It wasn't $900 lol. I'd rather be out in the sticks where it's nice and quiet.
Darn I would of thought it might of been passed down instead of you having to purchase

I’m 65 and feel 85.
It seems like 55 was yesterday, 45 was last week, and 35 was only two weeks ago.
I have no idea where the time went.
The Bible is right about one thing, man is like a vapor, like a cloud, like grass. He’s gone before he ever realizes he was here.

The first year I recall was a good one. 1978

For you younger bucks on here. For most games we had to stay up and watch the games on tape delay at 10:30 CST. Could be quite the battle with the parents on school nights.
The battle was listening to Rob Bromley

Not all, there are a few that like to talk there disrespectful boomer s.hit, wonder if there boomer moms and dads know there disrespectful kids are talking the boomer s.hit 😂

I am youngest gen X/oldest millennial born to the eldest of boomers. My folks talk more trash about their own generation than I do.

My dad says “Our generation was selfish and didn’t set yours up nearly as well as our parents set us up.”

He has a point, but also his parents could support multiple kids and a spouse + own a car and home on 1 income, where both of my parents had to work when I was growing up to keep us out of poverty.

I think if people actually met in person, it would be a whole different thing than on here.
I’ve met guys from here and still talk to them. I’ve been lucky with a few that are incredibly awesome and do things. Kentucky related. If you catch it.

I have been told twice I’m nothing like I am on the board. And of course not, can’t hide behind a computer in public. I’ve got kids man.

Shocked there are no 20 year olds
Most people under 25 would probably say "what's a message board?".

I guess they grew up with more social media, but nothing beats forums for these types of discussions. I really hate that message boards are slowly dying.

68 and living the dream. It appears that roughly 1/3 of posters are 60 and above, which should explain why Rafters can sometimes take on a “get off my lawn” persona.

I have wondered what the tone would have been if Rafters had been around for some of the Joe B years.

I will be 74 in August and saw Cotton Nash play in Memorial Coliseum, along with greats like Jerry West, Bill Bradley, Charlie Scott and Pete Maravich. Biggest change I've seen over the years is the gradual evolution of basketball in the SEC. My favorite player has always been Louie Dampier, with Tyler Ulis probably second. Favorite team was Rupp's Runts. I was devastated when Wes Unseld chose Louisville over UK. I still miss hearing Cawood Ledford calling the games.

I know we old ones can be cantankerous but sometimes I believe we do have more patience. After all between 1958 and 1996 (almost 40 years) with one championship. There was abundant criticism of Joe Hall back in the day. And in his 11-12 years as coach he won a championship and had two additional trips to the final four. There was also at least another elite eight. The criticism centered around his more methodical offense. He also coupled that with a tough defense with good bigs providing rim protection. This was a radical departure from Rupp who was a running, we will outscore you offense. I remember a luncheon with some coaches after Pistol Pete graduated when Ray Mears bragged about how he throttled Pete and bear LSU 5 of 6 games. Rupp followed saying, “we just let the boy run wild and beat them 6 of 6.

Can you imagine how much Pete would have averaged if he had the three point line!

I'll be 72 in November and still able to do most of what I want to do. I was actually running wind sprints in my backyard yesterday. However, I can feel old age creeping up on me.

I don’t want to scare you but I felt great until 75 but the last five years have resulted in rapid aging issues. I truly feel the decline. Both my grandfathers lived into their nineties but dont think I will make it that far.

I am sure you are prolly already doing so, but if not, you might try walking pretty regularly. If a gym is available, multiple reps at low weight levels is also a good thing to do. Just do it, as they say ... !!
