No way I could have ever kept the same account that long. Your maturity is not reflective of your avatars, Mike.

Well, I think that comes with age. There was a time when I would get on here, argue with people for hours, and probably pissed off half the board. @CutNets and I used to go on 3 week binge arguments. The avatars are more of a reflection of my personality.

Also not to act like anything I’ve done is close to going overseas and serving our country but I can relate to the feeling dead part. My kids are the only thing in the real world that prevent that from being all the way true.

Kentucky basketball was a staple of my life growing up and even my dad just really don’t care about them like he used to. He’s the one that got me into this crap hardcore then dipped on me. I’m really fighting to keep my passion alive for UK. Not that it’s hard for me to love Kentucky but seems like the overall passion from the fanbase in general isn’t the same. As a 5-6 year old kid I could see what UK was. It’s getting harder and harder to see it the same.

I grew up seeing opposing fans hate us. Calling us cheaters. Our own fans being hardcore. It just seems different. But it’s understandable.. something happened in the last 25 years that changed everything. Nothing is the same.
I feel the same, back in the day we got know the players from year to year! Now they don't stay long enough for anything!!!

Really suprised that there are no 20s on here.. like the guy who was 79 and clicked 70s.. I’m 29 and clicked 30s. No wonder i feel like I usually don’t have many with the same opinion. Which is a good thing. I like hearing all the other sides.

I’ll strongly say my side but also give 110% open ears if someone isn’t just trying to have pointless arguments.

I think forums were bigger for folks 40 and above. 20 and below might not know what the word forum is lol.

Well you know that lack of passion is all on Mark Pope.

Hell he’s had one year with an inherited an empty roster then lost most of his team to injuries and only made the Sweet 16.

Pretty sure this is sarcasm. Besides the terrible season we are having… the lack of passion stems way before Pope was the coach. And I’m not lacking any passion at all. Idk if that was directed towards me or just in general. I actually get flamed quite often for having 2 much passion.

Turned 70 recently.

* Saw the Cats in person for the first time with my dad and uncle at Memorial Coliseum in early 1966 - Rupp's Runts.
* Had my heart shattered for the first time (but not the last) that March.
* Was in college on spring break in Fort Lauderdale when the Cats beat undefeated Indiana in the Elite 8 in 1975, and met a UF basketball cheerleader that very night I later married. Again, a first, but not the last.
* Was away from home living in Miami and very homesick when the Cats won it all for the first time in my memory (too young in 58) in 1978. Spent a whole paycheck talking to my dad and brothers long distance that night.
* Was in Baghdad on a journalism gig the day of the "Laettner" game in March, 1992. So I'm the rare Cat fan not traumatized by that.
* Was in the hospital with my (second) wife as my daughter was being born during the Elite Eight game against Utah in 1997...
* Watched the 98 Duke comeback game with my daughter a few days after she turned one...
* Wallowed in John Calipari's great run from 2010 to 2015 with my son during his formative years from about 9 to 14...

Many other happy memories, too many to mention.
Also, lots of less satisfying days between those bullet-pointed highlights.
I expect to be adding more bullet points, and before too very long.

Me too. 60, retired 4.5 years and loving it.

Two questions I get asked :

Q-what do you do
A-the answer is whatever I want!

Q-do you get bored?
A-sometimes but I never wake up and say damn wish I was going to work lol!
My wife and I retired the same day, 3 years ago this fall. We go to the gym in the morning 5 days a week. Every evening we decide what we’re doing the next afternoon… life is good.

Not all, there are a few that like to talk there disrespectful boomer s.hit, wonder if there boomer moms and dads know there disrespectful kids are talking the boomer s.hit 😂
Boomers seem to have no problem being as disrespectful as possible. But the second a young one comes around and gives it back they can’t take it. Some can. Most can’t. Most boomers still believe there should be separate water fountains so I understand how the youngins come off as “disrespectful”

It’s the reverse of that, the stuff these days is insane because so many people have more knowledge of the growth process. Haven’t partaken in a long time but when I dipped on it it was already getting crazy.
I was kiddin. I already know. I was a 25 year smoker and stopped for internship purposes, lost the taste about 5 years ago. Now it just makes me paranoid af. Sad when all the dispensaries hit I stop. Had to hit up Jerome on the west side for a dime bag in school. Then hide from the cops like I’ve got 10 bodies in the trunk. My father still says it’s killin those brain cells

I was bringing up the 40’s and 50’s government scare vids. But this one is my favorite.
