I already have so much confidence in both Sestina and Juzang's shots that I'll be shocked when I see them miss one. I put this in future tense because I don't believe I saw either miss a shot last night!

Wait till Dontaie Allen gets cleared, He is a shot maker too. Just hoping he is the same player he was before ACL surgery.

smash you took the words right out of my mouth Allen will be the best shooter on the team when he gets his legs under him. A couple of other tidbits I learned today and that is some time ago the UK compliance office sat with Cal and said you better back off Isaiah Todd apparently it had to do with Todd already having received some cash. I knew that we had backed off Todd some time ago but I wasn't quite sure why. And another tidbit is that there was encouraging news let out on the down low that one of the bigs we are targeting is going to sign with UK in November I wasn't told who but I suspect it was Jackson

Thank's Dave for the news on why Cal had been backing off Todd. I really hope Jackson is the one..

Did Snoop Dogg or the pole dancers shoot the money towards Todd at KU's midnight madness?

has to be. Kentucky wouldn’t allow him a visit. Goes to that circus at Kansas and is still considering Kansas? Like what kind of parents want that culture and garbage around their child unless they are corrupt as well. No doubt in my mind your news is correct.
If we remember history any recruits entertaining Kansas, well end up being ineligible head case or flat out known to being paid.

Sestina shot 38% from 3 at Bucknell last year, that’s good for a big man but fans are going overboard in hyping his shooting over a small sample.

We know the defense is to be spectacular, getting the ball up the court, no problem. If those are as dead on as we heard awhile back, LOOK OUT!!!

That's not good for a big man. That's elite for any position.

That sucks about Todd. I have looked at him as the answer inside for us for a while. I like Jackson and I hope we land him, but to be special we really need a top big to go with this class like a Brown, Paolo or Maker type.

That the line will be moved back has to be accounted for. I see mid 30's

Good. That means the program you cheer for - Duke - will suck even more from three point range.

Moore and Stanley were abysmal from three point range on the AU circuit. Jones is obviously horrific as well.

Gonna be a long year for your Dukies. Can't wait to see them implode.

After what I saw yesterday, I want to see this lineup:

G Hagans
G Maxey
G Quickley
F Sestina
F Montgomery

Put some pressure on the perimeter on defense. Three shooters to stretch the floor on offense. Great free throw shooting as well. Would be a nice lineup to close out close games as well.

It could very welk be a long year for Duke. They need Hurt and Carey to be elite from the get go. Teams are going to zone them, especially squads like Syracuse.

Just dont think K can handle young talent unless its super-elite. This class is good.. maybe even great.. but its lacking on impact players, aside from Carey. But even he, im not too sure about. I dont like elite bigs to make huge strides as freshman, as they rarely have the ball in their hand. If Duke struggles to get going.. Carey is kind of stuck.

So everybody on that list you consider elite, even though the bottom guy shot 35%?
Andrew Harrison
Wenyen Gabriel
Michael Porter

Not to mention we had two elite big men bombing threes over 38% according to this list but struggled from the perimeter last year in Keldon Johnson and PJ Washington.

There are four true elites on the list you provided and 38% is middle of the pack, being on the same list doesn’t make them all the same. Which is why you only posted the list without a comment, you’re erroneously trying to lump them all together.

The fact that the dude would not even start his own thread for this, but only kinda slip it in here with some English on it, is why there is only one Dave Kersey.

Rock on, my man.

I don't understand why UK won't out players that have received money. How is the game supposed to be fixed if the stuff keeps being swept under the rug? I think it would help our recruiting.

That list is a good example of how people tend to overestimate 3 point shooting percentages. It's 33 seasons now with a 3 point line, and UK has only had 25 guys finish their careers above 38%.

Of course, volume plays a big role. Tony Delk hitting 39.8% on 712 attempts means a hell of a lot more than Shai Gilgeous Alexander hitting 40.4% on 57 attempts. But it goes to show that players who can hit above 38% from 3 on a high volume are a rare breed, and if you can guarantee that a player will hit 38% on any volume, you'd be smart to take it.

Why doesn't K? Surely he is aware of pay for play, or is he too saintly?

38% from 3 is very good. Not sure why anyone is downplaying that. Is it elite? No, but it’s not far off.

Taking 10 threes and making 40% of them is the equivalent of shooting 60% from the field inside the line. Only 6 players in UK history have, for a career, made 60% of their shots. 38% from 3 is fantastic for a big man especially.

Fun fact, Marcus Lee has the highest FG% in school history.
