Keion Brooks will be a big surprise fo UK before it’s over. He can play 1-4...a shot maker and plays defense.

I share your enthusiasm about Brooks, Slim.

I'm not sure about playing the 1 or 2 but dang hes a very skilled, high energy guy that has a nose for the ball. Very unselfish.

We are gonna love him and hes gonna make every one around him better.

That list is a good example of how people tend to overestimate 3 point shooting percentages. It's 33 seasons now with a 3 point line, and UK has only had 25 guys finish their careers above 38%.

Of course, volume plays a big role. Tony Delk hitting 39.8% on 712 attempts means a hell of a lot more than Shai Gilgeous Alexander hitting 40.4% on 57 attempts. But it goes to show that players who can hit above 38% from 3 on a high volume are a rare breed, and if you can guarantee that a player will hit 38% on any volume, you'd be smart to take it.
Which is why I said it was good but I don’t consider that elite. There has to be varying degrees of poor, average, good and elite. I guess it’s subjective on where elite begins but for me it’s not at 38%. Sestina is not the same caliber as Lamb and Ford.

Can’t wait to see Brooks Slim in Blue/White this season. Great name

I already have so much confidence in both Sestina and Juzang's shots that I'll be shocked when I see them miss one. I put this in future tense because I don't believe I saw either miss a shot last night!
Prepare to be shocked. All players miss shots. They will too. Expectations are always highest before the first game is played.

So everybody on that list you consider elite, even though the bottom guy shot 35%?
Andrew Harrison
Wenyen Gabriel
Michael Porter

Not to mention we had two elite big men bombing threes over 38% according to this list but struggled from the perimeter last year in Keldon Johnson and PJ Washington.

There are four true elites on the list you provided and 38% is middle of the pack, being on the same list doesn’t make them all the same. Which is why you only posted the list without a comment, you’re erroneously trying to lump them all together.
This was posted for reference only, not to make any suggestions about what qualifies as an “elite” shooting percentage or lump players together. This was the entire list from the website and I wanted to share it. I simply copied-and-pasted it.

I apologize, if you thought I was trying to challenge your thesis. That was not my intent. It appears I should have commented when I shared it, since I posted it as a reply. I see now that it is possible to just make a stand-alone post in the thread and that is what I should’ve done.

I find the list most interesting and thought others might, as well.

My opinion on 3 point shooting:

40%+= elite
38%-39%= very good
36%-37%= good
34%-35%= above average
32%-33%= average
30%-31%= below average
Below 30%= poor

smash you took the words right out of my mouth Allen will be the best shooter on the team when he gets his legs under him. A couple of other tidbits I learned today and that is some time ago the UK compliance office sat with Cal and said you better back off Isaiah Todd apparently it had to do with Todd already having received some cash. I knew that we had backed off Todd some time ago but I wasn't quite sure why. And another tidbit is that there was encouraging news let out on the down low that one of the bigs we are targeting is going to sign with UK in November I wasn't told who but I suspect it was Jackson

Nice Dave! I heard the same thing the other day but it was the end of October rather than November. As long as we catch'em right?
