According to the agenda for the Friday, Aug. 11, Nebraska Board of Regents meeting, the board will be asked to approve an 11-year agreement with the apparel giant that will pay the university nearly $129 million.

According to the agenda’s explanation of the possible agreement, Adidas would pay Nebraska $64 million in cash and provide $64.659 million in athletic apparel and equipment for a total of $128.659 million.

The explanation says the new deal would approximately triple Nebraska’s current contract with the company. The parties agreed to an eight-year deal in 2005 worth $22.875 million and agreed to a five-year extension worth $15.53 million in March of 2013. 3 stripe 4 LIFE!!

#Huskers considering a $128,659,000/11 year deal with Adidas for 11.69m per yr.

For context Michigan has 173.8/15yrs or 11.58m per year

This would be a huge win for Adidas, especially if Nebraska gets nationally top-10 prominent again. I thought Wisconsin and UCLA made a mistake when they bailed on Adidas for Under Armour. I'm in the action sports industry and if there's one thing that needs to happen, it's that Nike needs to be dethroned. It will take a really long time, but finally, FINALLY Adidas is not messing around. They've got bunch of great artists and designers and they are making good product. Adidas is the only action sports brand that will be able to compete with Nike because Nike is just so damn good at what they do.

If completed, that's an 11-year, $128 Million dollar deal. We would easily move into the top echelon of brand money and apparrel in college football. That's what happens when you invest in something from the beginning and stay loyal for a long period of time—you get a big return. In this case, a huge return.

Nice pay day. Can't wait to see what effects this and the full share will do for the Universities success.

Why would we want to opt out? Screw Phil Knight and his Oregon money and UA and their clown outfits. 3 stripe life is where its at!!

In case the contracts go through the roof in 4 or 7 years and we are getting $11 mill and other teams are getting $15 million. It wouldn't be to change brands, it would be to increase and get a new contract. It's a nice insurance policy.

When I was in college I was a Nike man. Never got into Adidas. However, today I wear Asics and don't care about that apparel. What do you college age guys care about in 2017? Yeah, I know, girls, beer... but were talking about apparel here. :D

The more I think about this, the more I get the feeling that Adidas is basically betting on Nebraska getting big again. I mean seriously, 11 years for $128 million? That's Air Jordan/Michigan and Nike/OSU-esque.

Ten years ago I wanted Nebraska to dump Adidas in favor of Nike. Later, Under Armour. However, Nike has slipped of late, as has UA. With this big of a contract, I'm completely happy with Nebraska moving ahead with Adidas. They seem to be climbing, and you can't argue with $$$. I highly doubt Nike or UA would be willing to offer anything near that much scratch for Nebraska.

Haven't always been a huge fan of Adidas, some of the alternates we've had have been atrocious but whatever. A jersey is a jersey and ours ain't too complicated, whatever the kids like and makes us money I'm in for.

Considering there are 9.9 million people in MI and 1.9 million in NE, its a good paycheck. Even if half are MSU fans, that's still 2.5 times the people.

Nike may have been the king at one time, but I believe their clothes are cheaply made and look cheap. I wear mostly Adidas sport clothes. No Nike at all. I look like a walking billboard for Adidas on the golf course. Adidas has some really cool shoes too. Another reason not to buy Nike. You are only supporting Oregon every time you buy Nike products. It just gives Phil Knight more money to spend on his Ducks.

Gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Something to make fun of 20 years down the road. LOL. I got a group photo that we took of our dorm floor when I was a freshman, one serious/one goofy. I like the goofy.

Beat me to it. Steeped in gayness. I can't even begin to imagine what would have to be going on in the mind of someone that puts that sh*t on. Probably getting himself a boyfriend I would have to think.

Not to mention that Nike doesn't cater to middle-aged dudes with wide feet. And...am I really going to wear shoes with a ton of goofy colors on them? Oh, BTW...get off my lawn..
