I am extremely impressed with what these guys have accomplished. My hat's off to AD and Rondo as well, but those guys are veterans now and they are expected to perform. But when you look at what Adebayo (in his 3rd year) and Herro (as a rookie) have done in these playoffs, it's really special. I thought both of these guys could have solid NBA careers when they were at UK, but I wouldn't have predicted what I've seen in these playoffs in my most optimistic prognostications. My 16 year-old son told me when these playoffs began that he thought the Heat could make it out of the East. I told him he was thinking with his heart and not his head. I've rarely been more happy to be wrong.

Now my big dilemma is who to cheer for in these finals. I would love to see AD get a title because I think he deserves it with the dues he paid down in New Orleans on some crappy teams. I would love to see Rondo win another title. But at the same time, it's hard not to root for the underdogs in this one. I guess the good news for UK fans is this: either way, we get to see some former UK players win some hardware. I gotta say, the better story-line would be the Heat in 7. I guess we'll see.

I'm pulling for the Heat, although I hope AD and Rondo do well. Just can't root for Lebron.

I don't like him either (for his hypocrisy on social and political issues but he is a great b-ball player), but am a Lakers fan and an AD and Rondo fan so I cannot go against the team in spite of Lebron. If he would just shut up and dribble or be consistent in his faux outrage (it is all an act IMO), that would be ok as well. Lebron only cares about himself and the only color he cares about in reality is the green of money and hell, who can blame him...this is America, but still don't like him lol.

It should be a fun series though and hope the Heat win 1-2 but Lakers win it all.

Lebron bugs me at times too but he should “shut up and dribble” as you say?
Wow, that is ******. He has a right to voice an opinion as do all of us. And while I hate his antics on the court he does as much as anyone for young black kids and helping them get to college.
Now, to the finals...pulling for Bam and Herro.
Bam is my all time favorite cat.

I am a Lebron fan before anything in terms of NBA . I don't really have a team. As a kid I rooted for whatever team Barkley or Rodman were on as those were my 2 favs as a kid and as an adult it has been Dirk and Lebron. But with AD teamed with lebron it is easy to root for the Lakers. But love that the Heat got here .

Ok, and that is fine...but talk about China, maybe show some compassion to the 2 good cops the scum bags wanted to die in LA instead of a lame no comment, maybe talk about how we can stop having so many young black kids dead from black on black violence in Chicago, etc. He should also actually do the research and get educated on some of these cases instead of just assuming bad evil cops and innocent criminal. He is extremely inconsistent in his takes and ultimately I do feel he cares more about money and his own legacy than any of the other stuff he spouts off about. I don't blame him.

Some of you all need to learn the definition of communist. A person who makes $37 million a year is not a communist. Let’s get the propaganda talking points lined up to where they at least make some sort of sense please.

To these people anyone not wearing a MAGA hat is an evil Marxist out to steal their toothbrush and turn their kids into the gays.

They’re ignorant and hopeless.

What bugs me most about LeBron - not his diahrea of the mouth.......it’s the way he has to act like every time he gets touched he may be in the throws of death. Dude is like 6’9” 250 lbs? You would think he’s a skinny middle schooler playing against the Steel Curtain out there? Why does he have to do that? My 14 year old daughter asked me, “ why does LeBron act like he’s dying every time they call a foul on the guy who’s guarding him?” She knows nothing about basketball....

Cops should murder more white folks, right UK8? I mean white people are already killing lots of other white people, shouldn't the cops get more involved? Remember Chevy Chase and Gilda Radner, "?

If she knows nothing why are you using her as an example? That speaks to your knowledge of the game. James does it like all the other stars that need calls. To call him out as the worst when he is clearly not makes me think its something else you do not like about him

I didn’t say he was the worst? I used my daughter to clarify my “opinion.” I’d say you should quit trying to be smarter than everyone. I readily admit that LBJ is the best player in the league right now; but I don’t like his act. If you can’t handle my opinion, well.....whatever.

edited in an attempt to not be a dick.. sorry.

And some need to learn that those powerful ones at the top in the communist system are rewarded greatly. It’s just everyone else that suffers.

I actually agree with both of you to some extent, I wouldn't say he should "shut up and dribble." He has the right to his opinion and they're putting a mic in his face, asking these questions, so he has the right to express his opinions. But I do agree with others here that it seems Lebron and some of these other outspoken current and former NBA players choose often to only see and hear one side of the story. And hey, I can understand to some degree why that is the case- they're being fed the same narrative the rest of us are hearing, and they haven't been around block as many times as me. I would like to hear some more balance from him, but I'm not holding my breath. I actually have apreciated Barkley's comments in this regard, because he has said some politically incorrect things that are more balanced. I do think Lebron means well and I don't hold those opinions against him. I also think, ultimately, he's worried about his career, his public persona, and his bank account- and political correctness dictates his responses, which is unfortunate but the world we live in. But he does have the right to speak his mind. I can't imagine if someone was following me around and at the end of every day asked me to comment on current events, especially the controversial current events of 2020. I do not envy him in that regard. There are many who look to him and I'm sure he feels pressure to say what he thinks they want to hear.

Both had great drive and enough talent at Kentucky for anyone really watching. Pat Riley made great picks there but certainly missed on Justise Winslow. Yet a turning point for the Heat may have occurred in trading Winslow for Crowder, Igoudala and Solomon Hill. Especially defensively.

Lebron is running for office? Interesting.
Interesting. Talking about only thing lebron cares about is his wealth. Well he isn’t in office. But we have someone who is and he’s a big time phoney who owes a lot of money and we know the money wasn’t originated in the USA. Safe to assume we are compromised by the Russians. Just hold everyone to the same standard. If lebron only cares about money that’s fine. He’s not in office. But we have a dead beat who is in office and only thing he cares about is his personal finances. Get the reason for my post superstar ?

I'm a Lakers fan so I've got my team.

But interesting enough...

Cheer for the Lakers to win if AD becomes Finals MVP. IF he wins Finals MVP as a Laker this year...he becomes the top dog in the league...and that's just great for UK.

If Bam and Herro help Miami win...Herro takes his stardom to another level plus Bam too...that becomes a young dynasty that will just sell to future recruits the next 20 years. "UK had this 4 star white kid that turned into a OAD, then he scored 37 in the conference finals as a rookie on his way to winning a title."

Just proves he is a great business man. Why should anyone pay more taxes than the law allows. Maybe you should throw in a few thousand extra each year since you believe you should pay more taxes than the law allows. I for one don't want to pay one dollar more than I have to.

Proud of Bam and Herro. Watching them in these playoffs has been a blast.

Rooting for the Heat. Predict Lakers in 6.

And FFS, some of y'all just can't leave the political stuff alone, can you? Didn't expect to read about crime in Chicago on a post about a kid from North Carolina and a kid from Wisconsin who play for a team based in Florida.

I’m cool with Lebron speaking to social issues that face his race. But I do have a problem with him sanctioning groups that are not vehemently opposed to murder, arson, burglary, theft, vandalism and assault. There is a line between social justice and social chaos. He crossed it. He did it publicly, therefore he is fair game for public scrutiny.
