I said 5-star recruit. Has Iowa ever had two 5-star recruits in the same recruiting class? No. So there you have it. That's what I'm talking about, not other metrics.
There are about 20 players in a McDonald's All American game. Iowa must have been the unlucky school that its two players in the game were not 5-stars.

Yes, there are 24 players in the MCDAAG, twelve on each team, and not all of them are 5 stars. Woliczko (#6) and Bjorn (#11) will probably be starters on the MCDAAG just like they were starters on the USA Team. They are the elite within the elite.

Of course it would be a better recruiting class with two 5-star recruits, especially since it would be the first time in history that Iowa would pull that off, but landing the #6 player in the class, the best wing/PF in the country, is miles and miles away from being a bad recruiting year. Clark was #4 in her class, Woliczko is #6. Imagine if we had only recruited Clark in the 2020 class and someone said it wasn’t a good recruiting year. Obviously Woliczko isn’t Clark, but she’s the second-best recruit in program history. So even though they’re not exactly the same situations, it are similar.
Yes - good point - she is really good when you add in with the young nucleus we have coming back - we have potential to be really good with just what we have - let's stop stressing over getting more - if we do great, if we don't we are still OK

I think the portal was good for us in getting Chit-Chat & Em-Rod. So having a year of experience is a plus opposed to coming in fresh and adjusting to the college game? Journey is playing further ahead of where I would imagine she'd be at this point! It's good that the new players are getting some experience early in the season as the depth will definitely help come conference play.

ND must have incredible recruiters because I dont get what is so appealing about that place. Yes, I know they've had great success and tradition, but we have just as much to offer if not more. Oh well, this sucks, but I love the players we have and would take them into a big game battle any day!

ND had a lot of turnover last year with several starters leaving. You have to question their coach and team culture. I know they will have plenty of minutes for the 2026 class.

That was my concern with Jenica Lewis’ recruitment. ND basically lost their entire core through transfers out. What kind of culture and atmosphere is in that locker room to cause that many players to bail out. Hope Jenica does not regret her decision. If she does I wonder in Jan would take her in.

I believe the story at ND last year was Olivia Miles wanted to be Option #1 rather than Hildago and it created a toxic locker room.
I don't know in what order the four girls left, but maybe everyone was unhappy at season's end?

Hannah Hidalgo posting Candace Owens videos saying gay marriage is a sin also didn't thrill Olivia. It is thought that that may have played a role in the locker room toxicity.

She would take her in a heartbeat. Why wouldn’t she? You don’t turn a state girl down as good as she is.

Her loss. What does ND have that Iowa doesn't?

Academics, a little bit better
Family culture - Iowa by a mile
Fan support - ND doesn't sell out, Iowa does
Closer to family - Iowa 1.5 hours, ND 5.5 hours
TV coverage - Iowa will be on more than ND

Meh, I’d say the academics are more than a little better. At least employers would view that way.

I agree, employers salivate over a candidate with an Irish degree.

Not saying this is her reason specifically but some kids just want to get out and go somewhere different, the same way some want to stay home. It’s why recruiting is a crapshoot.

Why the hell is Jenica and Notre Dame chatter on the Addison Bjorn thread? There is a Jenica recruiting thread on the board if anyone cares to pay attention.
You are correct, maybe it is because it has been so quiet on the Bjorn front. Obviously a difficult decision for Addison. C'mon Addison, it is great to be a Hawkeye.

Vote with your head Addison-You won't regret walking into Carver Hawkeye Arena and playing with Iowa's great players and being cheered on by their great fans.

My least favorite college. I don't like their holier-than-thou attitude. Heck it wasn't coed until 1972.

More power to her. I would of had no issue with TCU, North Carolina or Oregon. Anything but the fainting Irish.
2nd least favorite behind Pedo State.

I've said all along that I don't see her coming but I'd love to eat crow

I fully expect her to be wearing UT colors Thursday
I've said the same and also hope I'm wrong. I don't know where she picks but not expecting us
