Just ran through the top 20 recruits from 2021 and all but 2 of them were in the NBA after one year. Hard to imagine Ace being here more then 1 year.

This is the challenge of trying to build the team around very young but highly gifted players who are not expected to be in the system long. They are away from home for the first time, may need some further physical development, and are playing with new players and a new system. This is why what Kentucky and Duke do is so difficult. Every season they will adapt their offense and defense to the players coming in, and will stick with them even when it isn’t going well because they don’t want to do anything to damage their draft status, and some seasons it never comes completely together at the end. If Dylan also commits, it is great for us, but it is also not without risks, and Pike will be judged by both how they play on the floor, but also whether he has helped or hurt these kids in the draft.
This is kind of like stressing over performance, anxiety if you’re about to sleep with Mila Kunis. I get it but at the same time wouldn’t we all like to have that kind of stress in our lives.

They lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament though.
The tournament is always going to be a crap shoot unless you have a very dominant team.

Given Ace is considered the #5 overall prospect, let's hope he is more like a Derrick Rose than Romeo Langford, both former #5s, in terms of team success during his potential one-and-done season.

I am curious of this- if we start to become a 4/5 star 1/2 year and done type of program, can Pike keep his hard defense approach?

Good question.
I would almost guarantee that Ace and Dylan will hear from future eite recruits about their experience under HC Pike.

All these elite players talk to each other and are friends.
HC Pike is obviously great at building a tough, hard working family atmosphere.

But how will that translate to players with 1 foot out the door before they even arrive on campus?

Even though he had made public comments confirming his commitment to us I was a little nervous he never posted anything on his socials but I worry no longer!!!

Instagram isn't social media? He posted his commit there.

Don’t tempt me to start one right now!

Watched a bit of tape and Ace Bailey is absolutely ridiculous. All of it doesn’t mean wins for Rutgers if he can’t defend high screens. I have faith though he will.
Greene. With Ace’s off the chart athleticism, do you really question his ability to defend high screens? C’mon!!

Give the kid some space.
Until you hear otherwise he's made the decision to come to a great university and play for a great and honest coach.
He won't be sorry following through on his commitment.
