Williamson could also select Duke, Clemson or UNC. So we asked an assistant coach from an ACC program his thoughts on Williamson and what it would take to stop the dominant forward.

“He is an ox. He is a man among boys at the high school level. Obviously, his athleticism speaks for itself. He is a YouTube, Instagram, Twitter phenomenon. Maybe one of the most well-known players, arguably since LeBron (James) at the high school ranks. (He) has a chance to be a really good player at the college level with his size, athleticism and strength. It is going to be hard for bigs to match up with him. He has to get better with the ball and with his perimeter shooting - those are probably the two things that he struggles with the most - but he is going to be an elite-level player at the college level.


“I think for one, you have to play off of him, because he hasn’t proven to be an elite- level shooter from the perimeter and we know how important shooting is nowadays. If you play off of him, you worry that if he is able to get downhill and get an angle and get to the basket. I really don’t know though. That would be something we would have to worry about this time next year, but my initial thought would be if he has the ball to play off of him and if he catches the ball on the block, you have to double team.”

PREDICTION: Kentucky. “I don’t think it's Clemson; I think it is Kentucky. I don’t know if they are still in the mix, but for some reason I think it is Kentucky.”

Keeping it interesting. Must say I usually have a prediction and don't with him. I'm as curious as one can be in just who he picks.

Yes like all of us . Doesn't make his prediction any less valuable then anyone else's . As I would bet only Zion , his family and maybe ( but maybe not ) the coaches recruiting him know where he is going .

I believe that . As I said above it is a good chance none of the coaches have any idea where he is going . I know it was the same way going into the Knox commitment . Some guys play it close to the vest. I am not going to be watching the clock or the board tomorrow at 8 but if for some reason he commits I will be happy later when I get on. If not oh well just need to hope PJ comes back or Wiseman reclassifies ( which I think is likely).

Why would an ACC staff member say that? I'm not sure, but it doesn't seem like a good sign for us.

Zion is a family and community oriented individual. He could have played high school basketball anywhere he wanted, but chose to stay home in the Spartanburg community. IMO, there is no way he builds up all of this hype that's occurring right now in South Carolina, especially with over 4 months remaining in his senior year, and then commits to an out of state program. His character, values, and the timing speak volumes to me. Clemson.

A very odd post . Him saying he thinks he is going to UK is a bad sign? It really is a neutral sign as like everyone predicting he is just offering a guess , an opinion. Nothing wrong with it but like everyone he doesn't know.

Calling it now.. He's going to break a record for charges if he comes to Kentucky. No way the NCAA is going to let him bully his way to wins for us. I've never been so sure of something in my life. Still want him, of course.. but what he's so good at, the NCAA won't allow at Kentucky. Zero chance.

He come...correlation with Game day and his announcement can’t be a coincidence. Cal using this as marketing for program and get some excitement back into the program. Just my gut but haven’t we all traveled this road before with Cal and recruits. May be wrong but I’m choosing to be positive.

Game day wasn't announced when he set the date.

So stays home for a few more months before going off to whatever NBA city drafts him. Kid will leave South Carolina either next year or the following summer when drafted.

Not sure I buy this, there's no way to know if the staff tell's people accurate info on every recruit. They could be building suspense to keep it a mystery until he announces like anyone else. Example, I think Cal knew where Wall was going long before he announced.

One thing I will say for you Cane is, over the years you have learned to keep your big blab mouth shut when it comes to recruiting. At one time you were the most inaccurate here.

You might be right but, have you seen him? What players would be willing to sacrifice themselves to take the charge? He would be a raging bull coming at you.

I have a sick feeling it is going to be Duke. Nobody taking about them and Coach K has been on fire lately. Just have a wierd feeling about it.
