I do. In fact this person is a physician in about the highest risk sector possible. Seems to have a complete lack of concern.Who here doesn't have set of "hold my beer" friends that are completely lacking in self-awareness, common sense and above average IQ? They generally make up for it in entertainment value, albeit not in COVID season...
All positives, including from outside labs, are included in the stats. Only tests actually handled by MDH are included in the number of tests stat. Both of those statements are on the website.480 new tests reported today with 71 new positives = 14.80% new positives reported today - Prior to today 1392 tests with 249 positives = 17.89% positive results prior to today's report. Mississippi is testing a lot more people now, so there will be more positive results. Hopefully the % of positive results will continue to decrease. We all knew that there were a helluva lot more than 249 people with the virus in Mississippi.
and let's not forget as more people are tested via the antibody blood tests coming on line we'll start to get some picture of whose had the virus and never knew they had it or had a mild case and never got treated. I still think this will be a significant number.

Yeah but how many people here work in Memphis? A lot.

Would the percentage be more accurate if we said 14% of those who thought they had it and actually were able to get tested were found to be positive?
If we quit citing percentages we’ll be better off. The percentages reported and repeated here are not accurate, so why include a number set that doesn’t reflect reality?
I know at least 10 people who swear they have it, but we’re advised not to get tested, just isolate.
