Just because you are the best coach does not mean you are the best fit. Sounds trite, but it’s true. If he is trying to fight Creighton fans, how will he deal with pressure here?

Hurley makes a $5 Million a season and Donovan is in his last season contract with the Bulls after the 2024 season making approx. $6 million a year. Go after either one and bring one in fairly fast so they can get started on the restructuring of the Roster for the Next Season! I am sure UCONN will be giving Hurley a nice raise after winning Back to back championships but still would be a Homerun hire on either of these Head Coaches Hurley or Billy Donovan.
He's a very odd dude. Standing on the side line talking to his son to slam the ball in celebration when the shot clock ended. If it were anyone besides the nat champ it would be unprofessional.

Hurley doesnt...UK has won 1 championship in 25 years. The school he's at has won 6 in that time frame.

Being able to preach the word of Jesus to his programs is the most important thing to him. He's publicly stated this. Basketball his secondary and he has said his #1 priority as a coach is to prepare his players to get into Heaven. He's in an environment at Baylor that encourages that because it's a private Baptist school. I'm not convinced he'd give that up to come to a meat grinder who only cares about winning games.
This ^^^^^^^^^, UCONN is the superior program in todays game and there is zero argument. Coming to coach at UK would be a step down……minus the $$$

How do people say these types of things with such confidence? Did you go to UK? Do you know someone who went to UK? Do you have some kind of UK connection to the Athletics Department? Are you a big booster for UK? Do you know someone who talked to Hurley and Hurley said "12 million per for 5 years and I'll coach al Qaeda"? Did you talk to him yourself? For 600,000 + transportation and housing included, I'll coach UK for the rest of my life. There, I'm reporting that here first. Open the checkbook mitch.

No question that he's an incredible coach, but I saw some immaturity tonight.

Different strokes but that whole Storrs/ Hartford area is boring and depressing as hell. It’s not exactly New York City and it’s far enough away from New York City that most people don’t go on a regular basis. But if he likes it there who am I to tell him he’s wrong.
The scenario that a few of us have been predicting since this all began. "Be careful what you wish for" wasn't a defense of Cal, it was just a realistic evaluation of the situation.
