Every incidental contact was a Kentucky foul. Many not impact fouls. Also Auburn driving into the defender. It is a strategy but is ruining the game. The defender needs as much right to space. They are calling more charges but the fouls today were ridiculous. Sestina had a tough night. Shots didnt fall but some good looks. He will need to hit those in March. Tough loss but the kind that will get them ready for post season.

Our radio guys pointed out three obvious calls on them the first half and some in the second half. Even TV guys pointing out a couple of obvious fouls on them they just let go. And they get 44 free throws. Frustrating watching us let them get so many rebounds and the refs going off on us also. Just not much fun anymore. Can rarely enjoy a game. Close most of the time. And we have the talent advantage. Every night.

At some point once you see how the refs are calling the game, it wouldn't hurt to go to a zone defense. Auburn can't shoot so why bail them out will fouls. For the most part when a zone was used, Auburn stood around on offense not really knowing what to do.

Even Bilas noticed how many calls they missed.

College officials are corrupt. I have no doubt that they gamble on games and control the games.

And it's not just UK fans whining. It's every game I watch. There is no way officials are that inept.
Bilas rarely disagreed with any of the call made against UK, but question just about every call made against Auburn.

44 is a lot but..
No one can dispute they were the more aggressive team.
They owned the backboard and 50/50 balls.
We haven't been able to stop drives to the basket all year.

They became the more aggressive team when our guards (mainly Hagans) were called for every touch call and loose ball foul. That happens in basketball, guys lose their aggressiveness when they get calls against them. You can't stay aggressive and stay in the game when they call a foul when you breathe on someone.

There are a lot of fouls because of lazy defense. Too many guys playing defense by grabbing instead of moving their feet. The guards are getting whipped off the bounce and can only foul to keep people out of the lane.

But you have to admit that Hagans gambles a lot and that leads to fouls being called on him.
Okoro was just a match up nightmare for us.

I’m more concerned with being upset with Cal over

1. Destroying the schedule.
2. Getting owned by a program like Auburn
3. Failure to adapt resulting in lack of success
4. Destroying great home and home series

this game has nothing to do with why Cal needs to start answering hard questions. And actually answer them, don’t pull that used car salesman BS.

if you can't watch THIS game and see why Cal doesn't want to voluntarily play road games, then you are beyond help

Previous record vs UK was 41 set 29 years ago. It was pretty clear that the sweathogs were going to the line on every possession for the last 10 minutes.
44 the most in 20 years is all you need to know about this BS game. On the road, we are going to have to be at minimum 10 points better than the other team just to overcome the refs.

We did. Still foul on every play.

They shot 23 threes and 28 twos. They weren't more aggressive. Just more rewarded

No ****. Hard to rebound with your hands tied behind your backs by the refs and 4 fouls on half the starters. 44 FTs the most in 20 years for AUB. Even their fans should be ashamed of that BS. We outshot them from 2, from 3 and from the line. But when they make 9 more FTs than we attempt that's tough.

While it's never good, nor feels good, to lose, losing AT (2 loss) Auburn coming off a Final Four last year, and getting the home cookin woodshed BS loss..... it's going to pay off in the future.

We got a rematch game in Rupp later. Let's see what happenS THEN!

NCAA Tournament games won't be officiated like this

We still have a lot to learn and will get a lot of mileage across the board for dropping a game for a lot of reasons.

we've only played 21 games TOTAL as a team. while that is basically normal for UK team, we still need everyone to learn how they can best contribute and go out there and do it. With the way we struggle with having to put teams away still, there was no way we were going to win all of the games in this road gauntlet. I'm proud of the Cats'.

I'll stick with them 100%

Go Big Blue!

Bottom line we foul a lot.
They had two players in Okoro and Doughty that shot 27 of their 44..
Did anyone on our team really do a good job of keeping them out of the lane?
You could be the biggest homer ever and see that we had no one to guard Okoro.
We got called for 23 at TT and 29 today.
Unless adjustments are made by the coaches this will happen again.
Again we have players who foul a lot, Nick, EJ, Nate, and the freshmen.
That combined with a team that's attacking and out hustling you results in foul trouble.
No doubt we get a better whistle at Rupp but we will still probably commit over 20 fouls.
