i ain’t saying it’s gonna happen, but i ain’t ain't saying it either. we got all the pieces, boys.
Not only do I not expect this team or any other team to go 40-0. I also think there's a good chance we start 0-1 (and the same ole negative nellies will cry that this is a NIT team, Cal's on the hot seat, I hate OADs, etc, etc).

We’ve probably already went undefeated in the last five years if they vacated all the cheaters.

These are the posts, building everybody up, building your own expectations. Then they lose their 2nd or 3rd game and you call for a firing cause you thought they were Bill Brasky of basketball.

We’re not even close to going undefeated this yr. better chance of beating UGA in a couple of weeks in Athens.

Deli Owl nailed it. Not enough quality bigs. I will be surprised if we don’t have double digit losses. Hope I am dead wrong. Losing Blackshear will hurt worse than people know. Cal needs to figure out how to get good bigs back in the fold. Bigs that are offensively skilled. We shall see.

This year? Doubtful. Next year? Depending on what other elite players Cal lands, possible.
Exactly. This year, truly laughable and I'll be happy to eat those words if I need to.

As for next year...

We went 38-0 with a team that had 1.5 superstars (with his defense figured in, WCS was about half a superstar) and one late-blooming (Booker) streaky-at-the-time superstar-to-be whom we played out of position when it mattered.

...if we really do haul in Cade OR Kuminga, plus Askew and a complement of roughly Jackson-level bigs, plus what we have already and a mildly reasonable returning class? Then people can say and think what they want, but frankly I'll think they're kinda dumb if they don't think that squad on paper could win just two more games than '15 did.

Lack of quality bigs is, unfortunately, right as far as 40-0 is concerned. I don't see Washington-like improvement from EJ and do see only a slight improvement from Richards.

But, as someone said, this team is going to be fun and they should go deep in the tourney where anything can happen. Some games our guards alone with run the opponent off the floor.

Hard to see it happening this year but I do think Cal will have an undefeated season before it’s all said and done.

There is a reason Indiana is the last one to do it because it is very hard to do.

No body is going undefeated again.

Are you familiar with the concept of 'infinity'?
So long as there is college basketball, it's practically guaranteed to happen again. And my money is on us to do it next.

Now, which will happen first?... another undefeated season or another 16 seed over a 1...

I agree.
The back to the basket center is becoming obsolete.

UK has the guards and wings and enough size inside to keep teams honest.

We beat Sparty and we may very well run the proverbial table.
