Not getting into it with anyone, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I think we're all well aware now that Trump knows what he's doing.

Making America Great Again.
It's like arguing with anti-vaxxers. There's just no reason to waste your time.

unemployment, trade deals, lower taxes, consumer spending, cheap energy, and trump reelection seem like good reasons

Im not sure if you are reading into my post or not, but I definitely wasnt intending to be politically divisive. I was not choosing a side with my comment at all.
The closer we get to the election, the more uncertainty there is and investing often times doesnt react well to that uncertainty. Regardless of who is elected later this year, it was projected that a stock market correction would happen closer to the election(if not sooner due to an unforseen situation) due to the uncertainty and the continued unjustified runup of value.

2 steps forward and 1 step back is still moving forward. I wasnt suggesting that a correction nearing/at the election would be Trump's fault or anyone else's(whoever the candidate is) fault.

He wasn't reading into anything. You said there were no reasons for the market to be up. He gave you 6 reasons.

Oh, gotcha. That was poor phrasing on my part.
Yes there are for sure some good reasons for the market to be up in recent years. The run that we have been on has outpaced those good reasons and it seems like the negatives have managed to stay quiet/ignored for a long time. That is what my 2 steps forward 1 step back was referring to. An adjustment or correction can still mean progress.

Thanks for the clarification.

Are you looking at point drops or percentage drops? Just curious...

You realize that the 'recently' we have enjoyed:
1 Lowest unemployment ever.
2. Highest job participation ever.
3. Highest drop for those on welfare.
4. Move toward energy independence, versus depending on foreign countries.
5. Encouraging manufacturing to return to the USA, rather than being 95% dependent on China for our antibiotics.
6. The list goes on....

I get all my financial advice from Cooterpoot....

I can tell you some regional lenders are looking at adjusting pricing to maintain a level of volume they can somewhat handle (volume is shooting off the charts). If you don't take advantage of the rates this year, you're going to lose.

At $6 per share I just had to purchase some Ford stock. That is a lot cheaper way to own Ford compared to purchasing one of those Big A F150’s!

Yeah. The guy I use told me no quick (less than 20 day) closing in the next couple months. He's refi'ing more properties this month than he did in the past 6 months.

I just bought carnival cruise line stock, ccl, so you should probably short it. I’ve got that Sadim touch.

I just don't think the stock market has the mental effect that it use to. This keeps the general public from panicking and rushing the banks for money. 2008 changed the way business reacts and the way the public reacts to large shift in the stock market. It always come back. People have learn not to panic.

As long as we get to watch t.v. and we can get relatively cheap beer, it's all good.

The appropriate industries and jobs will be saved with taxpayer dollars and the economy will coming roaring back better than ever.

Trust Trump.
