Yeah i agree but i would just like to see them run a farm team and put the nba teams in charge of them. They could place players down and up based on need in their own system. Run it the way they want to and see if they can develop more talent.
Will destroy college basketball.
No, not a good idea...
Smaller medit mkt can't support it. All the logistics in travel, scheduling, insurance?
Have star players be 'injured' till playoffs
College ball is diluted enough, ncaa has made sure of that. Why let the nba profit upon UK Basketball's demise
Man, you guys sound out of touch. You're discussing as mere possibility things ALREADY being done.
The G-League, for all practical purposes, is now the NBA's minor league farm system. The League is now owned by the NBA, has been set up on an affiliate system with each G-League team tied to a parent NBA franchise, it has a two-way contract system where players under contract with an NBA team can be sent down to its affiliate and called up as the NBA parent chooses, etc.
And, yes, G-League salaries will continue to rise if that's what the NBA wants. Factors such as whether the "smaller mkt can afford it" don't matter as much when your League is owned, financed and controlled by its NBA daddy. The NBA has money to burn.
No point is theorizing about whether something should happen that has already been done.
