Yeah i agree but i would just like to see them run a farm team and put the nba teams in charge of them. They could place players down and up based on need in their own system. Run it the way they want to and see if they can develop more talent.
Will destroy college basketball.
No, not a good idea...
Smaller medit mkt can't support it. All the logistics in travel, scheduling, insurance?
Have star players be 'injured' till playoffs
College ball is diluted enough, ncaa has made sure of that. Why let the nba profit upon UK Basketball's demise

Man, you guys sound out of touch. You're discussing as mere possibility things ALREADY being done.

The G-League, for all practical purposes, is now the NBA's minor league farm system. The League is now owned by the NBA, has been set up on an affiliate system with each G-League team tied to a parent NBA franchise, it has a two-way contract system where players under contract with an NBA team can be sent down to its affiliate and called up as the NBA parent chooses, etc.

And, yes, G-League salaries will continue to rise if that's what the NBA wants. Factors such as whether the "smaller mkt can afford it" don't matter as much when your League is owned, financed and controlled by its NBA daddy. The NBA has money to burn.

No point is theorizing about whether something should happen that has already been done.

Some people tried to tell the progressive brigade that all of this transfer anytime anywhere and guys leaving early would lead to absolute chaos but naw, they’ve got an answer for everything.

And of course here we are, the inmates running the asylum, disfunction, but nah, this is great.

Any more great ideas geniuses?
They sure screwed up a nice sport.

"The NBA announced Tuesday night that 233 players — 175 players from colleges and other educational institutions and 58 international players — have filed as early entry candidates for the 2019 NBA Draft presented by State Farm.
That list does not include college seniors.
Only 60 players will get drafted on June 20 at Barclays Center."

Good luck to these young men. The new rule change allows these guys to follow their dream, or just get advice from a new face. Hopefully the 60% who got negative feedback return to improve their game.

Enough declared to fill the first and second rounds for the next 4 years. Alrighty

As the G League expands why not put a franchise in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Louisville, Lexington or Northern Kentucky could probably support a minor league. Apparently the fan interest is there

I don't think it will expand much more. I believe the plan for the League is to get to 30 teams, so there'll be exactly one G-League affiliate for every NBA team. Right now it has 28 teams, so they only need to add two more to meet that goal.

But, yeah, I'd think Louisville or Cincy/No Ky markets would be logical homes to put a team.

I think you completely missed the point. There is not a G-League team for every NBA team. There are currently 27 of them. That's all I'm saying. Yes three more are on the way but taking ownership by the NBA franchises will increase the salaries much more than the baseball farm system.

So college basketball is broken because the players are going for free job interviews and evaluations before returning to school?

You'd have to convince me, but I'd love to hear it.

Playing 8-10 minutes a game for UK vs playing in the developmental league is a “horrible take”? Let’s hope he get the horrible take then. He’s not progressed much in two years we need the spot for someone who will

bus rides, Motel 6, rent, buying food, paying bills, living in Boise. vs charter jets, 5 star hotels. all expenses paid, on natl tv every game and all the 20 year old coeds. Hmm, let me see.

When is the OAD going away??..Only talk I heard was to go straight out of school..That has nothing to stop the OAD..

Probably never but this has been the dream of the rocket scientist set for years probably because many or even most of them invented some totally other system with tin foil hats on to guide them.
