You cannot go with rosters of 10 in college. There in no ability to add players in season Not uncommon to a have 1-2 season ending injuries and games where players are not cleared to play due to injury. Twelve vs 14-15 is fine. The final 30% of the season rotations settle in to 7-9. Real difficult to do that all year. Also average roster size will inevitably shrink (maybe 10 to 12) for P4 schools, leading to fewer scholarships and teams will load up their rosters with upper class athletes (especially seniors), similar to what Indiana did in football. I believe typical roster charts (for P4 schools) will have 1-2 freshman, 2-3 sophomores, 3-5 juniors and 5+ seniors.
