If this is the explanation how much did PSU offer each of three and how much are Nebraska, Tennessee and Georgia offering. I thought I read when Campbell was hired that he would have a boatload of NIL money available.

Having more mo ey does not necessarily put psu ahead of any of the teams ahead of psu.

In summary, Dean hurt really badly as he was the top prospect for us, Georgia is a thorn in our side that simply follows our scouting, don’t believe a word these players say as it is meaningless when a bigger bag shows up, and even though Campbell has done very well with WRs at ISU in terms of college production and the nfl draft, there is a really bad stain on PSU for not developing wr’s over the last several seasons. We need to prove to college football we can throw the freaking ball to WRs this season. Taylor has been steadfast in his July commitment date. I think Hall’s date is next week. Taylor has been vocal that our staff have been highly supportive of him checking in with him often in terms of helping him out with some of his personal struggles, but on the other hand, it seemed surprising that he’s taking the Nebraska trip. Really nobody knows at WR. We were so confident before Dean left that we told Baldwin (a promising lower rated prospect we heavily recruited) there was no more room here so he committed to Pitt.
If that’s true about Baldwin, then that falls squarely on the staff for counting their chickens before they were hatched with the other WRs. Rookie mistake from a veteran staff.

Well I will go on record as predicting Grunkenmeyer will be a better QB than Becht. Interesting how Grunk played well while playing against 3 of the best defenses in college football in his first 6 starts while being tutored by the same QB coach as Allar and who will be his QB coach at VaTech.
This season?

Well, at this point in time, Georgia is viewed as one of the top 5 programs in the country with a lot of momentum. For whatever reasons, many kids want to want to be apart of success and championships, regardless of their contributions.
I think a lot of them are overconfident that they can beat out the half dozen 4* kids ahead of them.

It would be a horrible look for Campbell & PSU if Grunk outperformed Becht this year. Becht is an experienced senior who's playing with a number of kids and coaches he has experience with. My concern about taking Becht over Grunk is that we traded 3 years for 1 year.

This is actual “inside” information from a Happy Valley United forum contributor. I believe you can all click it even if you’re not a member of HVU - https://nittanycentral.com/penn-sta...-official-visit-rumors-commitments-june-2026/
Nice find, thank you for sharing.

Most seem to believe Taylor/Hall are still in for the Nits. But a bag could be imminent to change things.

The staff's feelings on McGhee is surprising to me. He felt like a long shot to leave TX.

Was hoping for better news on Alexander, Rhoa, Emedobi, & Washington.

Are the three years guaranteed?

Not if he leaves early for the NFL.
They can't go to the NFL unless they're out of high school for 3 years. If any player leaves a year early it usually means that they performed extremely well in college. How many PSU QBs have declared for the NFL early?

It would not be a horrible look that's just crazy. It's not like MC had any shot at retaining him. Grunk was gone the moment he heard BGJ was going.

That one kinda hurts being from SE PA and all
That’s three highly rated DE/Edge players to ND in this recruiting class. But, the jokes on them because he is skinny and isn’t college ready yet, or at least that’s what we are told here.

After CJF was fired and the offense was changed. Grunk is now back under Franklin's oversight. We shall see. Will Ty Howle, as a first-time OC, be given liberty to deviate from the Franklin offensive scheme?

Highly ranked OL recruit from Lansdale Catholic in Lansdale, PA.

We apparently never even got a sniff from this guy. The experts all made him sound like a guy that was looking for a bag in SEC Country from Day 1.

I’m surprised they posted that information publicly, not inside a paywall. It is a good sign that Hall’s brother is a pwo. That’s probably part of a deal to get Hall to happy Valley. Yeah, good news on the 2 WR’s and McGhee, concerning news that Oklahoma is making such a strong push for Alexander, and bad news on Rhoa. Emedobi is just news - the hybrid is a role player in D’Anton Lynn’s defense so they do not prioritize it in recruiting. It was a featured player under Franklin. It’ll be interesting to see what model is the more successful one for PSU. We had successful hybrids do real damage to conference opponents and sent several hybrids to the NFL. We also gave up many important games in Franklin’s time because the smaller d-line could not hold up later in the game.

Rutgers was in his top 4. They are neither in the SEC or in a position to drop a big bag for a single recruit. Some of that may be true, but at some point, we can’t just assume the kid is wanting a bag every time a recruit goes somewhere else. It comes off as sour grapes.
