Be a smart arse all you want and to a certain extent despite your sarcasm, you are correct. Any coach would be really smart to listen to how Cig brings an abundence of new players, integrates them into his starting lineup without upsetting the apple cart. He's obviously got it down really well, and I doubt he's telling people exactly what he is looking for and how he does it.

CIg has shown at every level (go google him) that he does win, and he does it with a boatload of new players to his system that contribute day one. So is his system likely hard or likely easy to understand? As I've said, other coaches are going to start to figure out a lot of what he is doing. Really, I doubt people like me and you have much of a clues as to how he identities and pulls kids in. Though I feel certain he'd rather have a 5th year senior multi year starter from Tulsa or FCS over a 5 star HS kid.

Why is Campbell stating over and over that having a Becht who understands his system is so so so important to this team? How well did Mendoza understand Cigs system in the spring of 2025. What about Kurtis Roarke in the spring of 2024. Go look at his stats in 2024.
Is Cig the reincarnation of Knute Rockne? LOL

This thread is getting out of hand, there are about six posters, of whom i think have
double handles. The opinions smack of Juvenile language, or bots hinting of Jimmy
apologists,and MC haters.
Jimmy is gone, Matt is here, and Indiana won the National Championship with zero 5
stars. Deal with it.
Yes, let's have a message board where everyone thinks the same. People with opinions that differ from the majority are dangerous. There is no telling where such subterfuge could lead.
It could lead to revolution or a coup d'etat.....a sudden and violent overthrow of the the Kraft/Campbell regime and an attempt to reinstate James Franklin. This is serious.
Indiana is national champion and Curt Cignetti must be worshipped. As no one has ever coached a national championship football team before. He is the way and the light. LOL

The worst is the retired coach in his cheerleading skirt for Jimmy still. He needs to go to the VT board and be the victim he has constantly made himself out to be over the years over there.
Boohoo and I always just wanted to have friends here. Everyone is so kind, knowledgeable and welcoming. Do we have an arm patch to wear?

Maybe reading comprehension isn't one of your strong suits but no where did I say Coach Campbell was a hero, just willing to give him a chance before condemning him like BGJ goo gobblers. BGJ proved he couldn't hire staff to fit his roster, couldn't win big games and proved a failure in game time decisions.
I'm very excited to watch Campbell achieve excellence at the highest level. Franklin's failures are "in the books." Along with his 104-45 record 2 conference championship appearances, one championship, 5 top 10 finishes, 6 seasons of 10 or more wins.
2 playoff wins, and Fiesta, Cotton and Rose Bowl victories. Let's make some hard and fast predictions about what Campbell's career record will be at PSU. What do you predict? How many NC? If he coaches 150 games, what are you willing to say his record will be. Because he's sooooo much better than CJF who by the way, had a better record than PSU had in it's previou 150 (before his tenure).
We Deserve Better......

I have been on the PSU Message Boards since 2000 and I don't recall a year when there were so many individual pissing matches, as with this year. I hope this is just a blip on the radar and not an indication of what our Message Boards are going to look like going forward.

Marshall is so annoying I now have him on ignore. I encourage others to do so as your board experience will become remarkably improved. Jesus Christ could become the head coach here and he would have problems with him.
It’s kind of like when you park under the wrong tree and the birds s*** all over your car. If you don’t put the dodos on ignore then you have to put up with them s****ing on every thread.

I go away for a couple of days and Mr. Ego craps all over the thread again. Has to respond one by one to poster after poster, dispensing his “wisdom” and “insights.” What a condescending a-hole.

The one that cracks me up on the message boards over the years is that if you don’t absolutely kiss Penn State’s *** on everything, people call you a traitor, a troll, dumb, or negative. I remember criticizing Franklin numerous times over the last few years and you would’ve thought I’d killed someone. I’ll say Campbell is a good game-day coach who can win a natty this year, but if I criticize his recruiting — missing out on every PA kid and top targets — then I’m a piece of **** troll who’s negative all the time 🤣

If we can add Currie and Paiva in the coming days, this class will really be in fantastic shape. I'm not discounting the connection between National Champions and the average star ranking for recruiting classes but I really think that this 2027 Class is going to either perform better than its ranking or we'll see the players increase their rankings after the camp and fall seasons.

Hopefully we can adequately defend this class against future poachers because they're going to come.

I agree with your overall assessment. Assuming we keep the class together to date, I think Dean and Odoh are going to be high 4 stars by the end of the cycle. Odoh would be now if he did not get nicked up in his junior year. I’m super positive about every aspect of the class except for OL. I think it is a group that has a very high ceiling, but not as many college ready bodies as I would hope for. And it looks like we are going to lose Carter Jones to Clemson, which is very unfortunate.
