Tennessee is recruiting from the same pool and caliber of WRs as Ohio State. They have at least 2 WRs much higher on their board than Jamir Dean.
1.) I dont think Tennessee or anyone else looks at a kid and says. How does he rate? Either they like the kid or they don't
2.) Often offers are conditional, "we like you, but you should also be looking around, and make sure you like us" I believe we call this "slow playing."
3.) TOS shows Tennessee with 46 offers out to WRs, about half of which rate lower than Dean. I'm sure lot of those offers aren't commitable, but it says they didn't even view Dean as a fall back option type of kid.
4.) Everything about Dean based on his track times and his basketball skills says serious athlete. He appears to be a prime candidate for a kid that is underated in the rating system.
5.) Tennessee would know of this kid well ahead of everyone else, and hes a top 20 rated kid in Tennessee.
I find it really odd they didn't offer him, and if the thought process is UT is only really going after high profile kids that are a step beyond what PSU can get. Well, we are going head to head for them on Deshawn Hall along with Auburn and Bama, and I don't think he is as high on our board Taylor is, so it isn't like they are only pursuing 5 star kids.
