Looks like he’s heading to Notre Dame. Another miss for Campbell.
We didn’t make Gregory final 7
Taylor is trending to Nebraska
Not much left for us besides more 3 stars from Idaho.

I like how everybody throws in that random 3-star who turns out to be a stud. If you go back far enough, teams with the highest-rated recruiting classes almost always make the playoff and contend for national championships — with the notable exception of Indiana. Curt Cignetti is a great coach who figured out an effective transfer portal model that everybody is going to copy (Ohio State and Penn State leaned into it heavily last year).I wouldn't mind 3 star commitments like Trent Williams and Lane Johnson were in college.
Word on the street is that we are going to need a transfer QB in 2027. Manske may have something quite serious.Agree. There’s basis for optimism and concern. 2026 could be a decent season. 2027 has some question marks that need to be addressed.

That stinks as I liked his profile and potential.Word on the street is that we are going to need a transfer QB in 2027. Manske may have something quite serious.
Who’s Penn State getting for the offensive line? Literally a bunch of no namesND is loading up on offensive linemen. They just flipped a kid from UCLA. That already had a commitment from two other OL players including Halter, a four star OT from Pittsburgh Central Catholic, who is the fourth ranked player in PA. In addition, they just got a commitment from the #1 player in NJ, a five star OT. Now, they are the favorites to land the #1 player in DE who was previously committed to PSU. They aren’t messing around.
Their donors seem to have a problem with Indiana winning the national championship.ND is loading up on offensive linemen. They just flipped a kid from UCLA. Yeah, apparently they’ll know this summer if he’s good to go for 2026 and beyond. It is a shame because he has a ton of potential. It’s something very new. If we need a transfer QB, that will be $3-$6M in this market. That stinks as I liked his profile and potential.

3-6 million you can count out Penn State for that then. Probably sign a QB from Slippery Rock.Yeah, apparently they’ll know this summer if he’s good to go for 2026 and beyond. Nothing about this coaching staff leads me to believe they will spend $3-6 million on a single portal player. I would very much disagree with that assessment. They would absolutely spend what’s necessary to get a starter QB if they needed it. You know they have spent big money on specific players. So for example, they spent $1 million to retain Tony Rojas, who is recovering from an acl.Nothing about this coaching staff leads me to believe they will spend $3-6 million on a single portal player. It's either contribute to the payroll or stadium construction. We know what Kraft's top priority is.I wish our donors had a problem with Indiana winning the national championship
We will see. They spent far less than $3 million on Rocco Becht, their home grown, known commodity, QB to follow them. I don’t see it happening and I’m not sure I want them to spend that much if it means cutting corners on portal players or recruits at other positions of need due to NIL constraints. Weren’t you on here a few days ago saying that they weren’t going to spend big money on top players and they were spreading it out to “build a roster”, while referencing NIL limits at PSU? Now, you think they are going to spend $3-6 million on one guy? Also, if they were willing to spend a million dollars on an often injured Tony Rojas, did they offer Amare Campbell, last year’s leading tackler the same deal?I would very much disagree with that assessment. They would absolutely spend what’s necessary to get a starter QB if they needed it. You know they have spent big money on specific players. Why limit it to Eastern Mass? The PIAA and NYSPHSAA are "on fire" with the issue. In Pa. the legislature dumped the issue on the PIAA and in NYS the athletic association is the target of potential law suits from both public schools and "schools without boundries." I served on a recent adhoc committee meeting of the NYSPHSAA. At issue is the fact that in most states (many years ago) parochial and (private) schools were accepted as full members to their respective state athletic associations.
Our legal counsel has always cautioned that "as members in good standing".....any attempt to "kick them out" or put them in a "separate but equal" post season catagory..... will likely result in a massive loss ($$$) in litigation.
So privates vs publics remain like the weather....everyone complains, but there is very little that can be done.
Here in NY, we can classify non publics up in class and have done so for years. The issue is when they reach the highest classification and still dominate.
What is the injury that they can’t determine anything until the summer? That seems odd.Yeah, apparently they’ll know this summer if he’s good to go for 2026 and beyond. Let's add a few:Key retentions:
QB - 0
RB - 0
WR - 0
TE - Rapp
OL - Donkoh, Cousins
DE - Maybe Granville
DT - 0
LB - Rojas if healthy
DB - Tracy, Collins, Dixson
That's not a lot but we did get an experienced QB, RB, WR, DE, and LB from Iowa State in the portal
Random??? Let's just stick to Penn State in recent years. Ioane, Fashanu and Dawkins were all 3 stars. There are plenty of 3 star players who have done very well.I like how everybody throws in that random 3-star who turns out to be a stud. Nick Dawkins was just ok and I believe he wasn’t drafted. Fashanu hasn’t lived up to a 1st round pick yet for the Jets. He’s been awful run blocking just like every Penn State offensive lineman has been since Franklin was here.Random??? Let's just stick to Penn State in recent years. Aren't we talking about college? Fashanu had a tremendous college career. Rated the #1 OT in the draft. Dawkins was 2 year starter and above average player. The bottom line is that I could name many 3 star kids who had good to great college careers. So 3 star athletes don't concern me. I'll wait and see how they perform on the field.Nick Dawkins was just ok and I believe he wasn’t drafted. Fashanu hasn’t lived up to a 1st round pick yet for the Jets. I think if you asked majority of the people on this board if Nick Dawkins was a stud majority of them would say no. You can have your 3 stars. I’ll take a team full of 4 and 5 stars and beat your 3 stars more often than not.Aren't we talking about college? Fashanu had a tremendous college career. Rated the #1 OT in the draft. None of those were starters last year (except Barker). I think Kemajou & Toure saw decent PT.Let's add a few:
RB: Q. Martin
WR: Howard
OL: Malachi Goodman
DE: Kemanjou
LBer: Tatsch (sp?)
DB: Joseph
Safety: Toure
FG Kicker: Barker
Irrelevant. Some if tge players you listed were not starters either. Did Granvill play a down?None of those were starters last year (except Barker). I think Kemajou & Toure saw decent PT.
I would tend to agree. But for me, I don't give up on a kid just because he's a 3 star. That is certainly your prerogative.I think if you asked majority of the people on this board if Nick Dawkins was a stud majority of them would say no. You can have your 3 stars. You cared enough to respond.Like I care what some boomer Joe Pa bot has to say with his 1970s insult
Michael Robinson was a top 100 4- star prospect. He was evaluated as an athlete, and most recruiting sites projected him as a probable safety. Robinson chose PSU because JoePa promised him a shot at QB.The 3 QB s that lead PSU to their only Big Ten titles this century were all 3 star recruits..meanwhile 3 of the biggest flops were all 5 stars. Recruiting went off the rails around 2000 with the introduction of star ratings. Now with NIL and the portal it s a total bleep show. Over half of every class will either leave or be a non contributor.
You said key retentions. It was important to retain those I added. Goodman, Kemanjou, and Howard will probably start. Toure and Joseph will see increased PT as 2nd team players. Tatsch if recovered will see increased PT @ LBer. (2nd team).None of those were starters last year (except Barker). I think Kemajou & Toure saw decent PT.

Fashanu's rookie year was not good because of nagging injuries and playing unfamiliar positions, both tackle and guard, on the right side. He was moved to left tackle in 2025. Season did not begin well, but he graded very well during the second half. As a run blocker? Well more than half of Breece Hall's runs for first downs and TDs were through the 5-hole.Nick Dawkins was just ok and I believe he wasn’t drafted. Fashanu hasn’t lived up to a 1st round pick yet for the Jets. He’s been awful run blocking just like every Penn State offensive lineman has been since Franklin was here.
