Actually I think the Braves took the game with clutch hits and plays in the last few innings. The Braves are the team that almost gave the game away with 2 unearned runs in the first inning.

Wow, I just saw the 0-1 score, dang, must have been one of the top games to watch this year, for Phillies fans, anyway.

Yeah old fashioned pitcher’s duel. Told my wife around the 7th inning that one team or the other would hit a homer and win 1-0. Luzardo was fantastic.

1:51 running time for the game. Thank god for the pitch clock. That would
be the 4 or 5th inning run time for some of those Red Sox Yankees “classics” of yore. Hundreds of crotch scratches and helmet adjustments per at bat.

So for the 4-game series, the Phillies starting rotation was excellent vs a very good team.

Sanchez was a little below his standard but went 6 innings and allowed 3 earned runs.
Wheeler 8 innings and 1 ER.
Nola 7 innings and 1 ER.
Luzardo 9 innings shut-out.

Bodes well for the playoffs.

Last night was a harsh reminder of the flaws on this Phillies team and a barrier to them winning a title again. Bad pitching and just horrible base running (which has been a problem all season).

Please get rid of Painter - just get rid of Painter. I do not believe his has the ability to be an MLB pitcher - his head will never allow him to focus.
