Why not bunt in that situation ? At least get the tying run home. 🤷‍♂️ The infield, with the exception of Muncy, was playing back.

Somebody needs to tell Barkann to shut up about Crawford “hesitating”. The contact play was on, he was out the second Muncy fielded the ball. At that point Crawford did his job by getting into a rundown. That was all JT having a brain fart, which he admitted to post-game.

Agreed

Sosa will swing at anything - the ball could be 3 ft outside and he will swing. How about a bunt to move the runner, then a sacrifice fly would score.

You can debate whether or not Crawford should have made the decision to break for home but once he did make that decision, he played it correctly. JT had third base, it’s Baseball 101.
IF Crawford delays getting out - Realmuto is on third and Marsh should be on second - now two out but still in scoring position for tie or win.

First off, FIFY. Can't stand him any more.

Secondly, I don't know what the replays have shown. I was at the game sitting at 3rd base. Crawford absolutely made a mistake. As soon as the ball was hit, he started towards home, then slowed down as it was fielded. If he's off on contact, he wouldn't slow down. If he's not off on contact, he takes a step or two back towards 3rd until he sees the ball get through. To me, it looked like he wasn't off on contact, which I agree with, but started going home before he should and got caught. I'm not touching the less than little league baserunning JT showed.

Barkann needs to shut up …. Period !!

So annoying and doesn’t really know much about the game.

Babe Herman doubles into a double play, 1926. (Technically it was a double but he ended up on third base.)

Bases loaded, one out. A on 1st, B on second, C on third. Herman at bat. H hits one off the rf wall, C scores. B waits to see if the ball will be caught and takes off late. B is a very slow runner and it’s a good throw to home, B is trapped between 3rd and home, a rundown ensues. A rounds second and sees the rundown and goes to third, as he is coached to do. Herman reaches second, sees the rundown, and, thinking that it must be A caught in the rundown, goes to third base, as he is coached to do. Result: three men on third base. B, lead runner, gets the base, the other two are called out.
