I’m glad he’s coming back. The odds were long that they could effectively replace him via the draft or some patchwork combo of journeyman TEs.

Edit: I just saw that Goedert’s deal is one year at $7 million. Wow. I’d have bet the ranch his free agent market would be considerably more than that.

Word I heard was that he worked with the team to push his date back to let them try to figure out stuff with AJ. That plus the team friendly deal last year and this year…. He just strikes me as a Philly guy till he dies. Had a chance last year and this year to get a multi year contract somewhere else but he said eff it and stayed on 1 year deals. Lifer.

The Dolphins just traded Jalen Waddle to the Broncos for a 1st, a 3rd and a 4th.

That should dump cold water on whatever AJ Brown trade speculation is still out there.

There’s no way Howie takes less than two firsts or a higher first round pick and addition picks.

Great move for a #3 WR. Brown is a big deep threat too, which plays to one of Hurts’ strengths.

You don’t sign Brown for one year at and $6 million to replace AJ Brown.

yeah i initially was curious as to what this was all about. However, listening to the Eagle Eye podcast, Zangaro mentioned how the last time the offense was really dynamic (now I understand this could be the OC, health.... a lot of factors) was in '22 when they had Quez (a "burner") at WR3. i was initially curious as to how a speed guy at WR3 would be beneficial because I was under the impression that you use a shifty Dotson/Zaccheaus/Covey kind of middle route runner. but i can dig this, SO LONG AS THERE'S NO TOM FOOLERY

I think Mannion’s new system is a huge part of the formula this fall. It doesn’t take much imagining to see an offense where the route tree and pre-snap motion spring guys open all over the place.

I can't say I'm sad to see him go. One of the poorer draft picks in recent years. Ji'Ayir Brown went in the same round of the same draft, and would have been a much better pick, IMHO.

He had good physical tools, but lacked common sense and field awareness. Too bad. I hope he gets it together.
