@Tom McAndrew -- with Purdue winning, the Lady Lions miss making the B10 tournament. Any thoughts on whether Coach Kieger is kept for one more (I believe that's her remaining contract) season? Thanks.

Sorry for the delay in responding to you. For whatever reason, the Quote function wasn't working for me on On3 for pretty much the entire day. It just started working again a few minutes ago.

PSU's relationship with Kieger is as confusing to me as it is to most fans. And unfortunately, I'm in an unusual situation where I have no inside info on the situation.

Her time at PSU has been 1 step forward, 2 steps backward, too many transfers out, some nice transfers in.

Her years at PSU have produced the following:

Season
Record
2019-207-23
2020-219-15
2021-2211-18
2022-2314-17
2023-2422-13
2024-2510-19
2025-2611-18 (so far)

Covid interrupted what she was trying to build early on. That said, one winning season in 7 years is pretty poor by just about any measure.

What will PSU/Pat Kraft do? I haven't a clue.

Great player when she was here
Virtually no experience recruiting and didn't have much success as a coach in the W. Risky but I doubt people were fighting for the role.
On the plus side--thankfully she played under Portland
Best of luck to her

Considering that this program made the Final Four in 2000 I believe, and traditionally was the second best women's basketball program in the Northeast after UConn ascended, and even competed with Purdue for the best program in the Big 10 for many seasons when PSU started Big 10 play, it's amazing at how this program completely has disintegrated and been past by almost every other Big 10 program.

Two bad coaching hires in a row will do that.
