2024 NCAA Championship Session VI Thread

Courmier is an a**. Don't complain as an announcer when the ref is calling appropriate stalling. Lost awhat little respect I had for him. At least Burroughs disagreed with him.
There was at least a 4 year age difference between the two wrestlers. That said, Mitchell made it close.
Yeah, crazy. Would have never expected that from him if that was indeed the case.
Byers mentioned that as a possibility. I tend to doubt it. Carr rode him a long time, and most wrestlers check the scoreboard when going back to the circle.
I predicted in January that MM would have a similar season to Levi Haines. Looks like I was on the money. I hope MM has a follow up season like Levi has had this season.
I bet if they wrestled again, M2 would take Carr. You could see Mitch thinking of his strategy.
I agree. I don’t think he realized Carr had a riding time point. I forgot for a second too. I was thinking Mitch had him worn down and would win in SV.
If fairness, he probably hates that Iowa St Jersey as Cael gave him 6 losses in his career haha. And he clearly is not a PSU fan.
He was very conflicted that whole match viewing those superior to him in the College Wrestling world. Poor fella
Starroci vs. Rocco Welsh. Tough match. If CStar's knee was 100%, he'd be the strong favorite. We'll see if he can gut it out.
174 final: Carter Starocci vs. Rocco Welsh, Ohio State
Period 1
Quick shot and stopped for blood. Not sure where that came from. Bunch of tie ups as we hit halfway. Single by Starocci, but good defense and he can't finish. Still neutral. Welsh hit with stalling. First ends with Starocci still pushing the pace and a second stall warning. 1-0 Starocci. Some blood time between periods.
Period 2
Welsh defers and Carter takes down. Quick stop for blood. Carter escape in 21 seconds. 2-0. Welsh shot, fought off by Starocci. Restart neutral. Not too much the rest of the period.
Period 3
Welsh takes neutral. Carter being cautious. 1 minute left. Starocci called for stall as he reattacks. Out of bounds before a takedown. Still 2-0. Starocci holds on and wins 2-0
The sixth ever and first Nittany Lion 4 time national champ, CARTER STAROCCI!!!!

Agreed but that happens both ways. Just take the L. Both losses so far tonight the better wrestler won
I dont think he forgot he was down for a while, I think he didnt know the score for some reason. He seemed surprised they werent going to SV
Psycho is going to win a championship next year, heck of a first year
I'd hate to see a finalist lose on stall calls, but I also hate to see guys not wrestle. Lose facing your opponent, not by running away.
Bandage his face like a mummy
OMG, during injury time I was looking away and then glanced back to TV to see Starocci on the mat with knee injury. It was a clip from the edinborough match . Gav3 me a heart attack thinking he reinjured his knee in the finals.
Carter Starocci is a 4 time NCAA Champion!!!!!!
Raising the ******* trainers hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Most excellent. A highlight in PSU wrestling history
