I think somehow, someway we’ll need one win in the B1G tournament to lock up a spot in the big dance.

The parity in the B1G makes it difficult to predict the number of wins necessary for a NCAA bid.I expect the majority of B1G teams to have 10 or more losses because of the difficulty winning on the road.

Not to sound unconvinced but 20 wins guarantees us nothing...you saw today how we are still perceived in the media and in the eyes of some coaches as a fluke ...that is a fair assessment based upon Rutgers past history... if we are at 20 wins and somebody thinks padunk U is more deserving we can’t feign surprise until we win another 7-8 games ... then we can *****...Just Win Rutgers !!!!!!!!!!
Come on, man. We are ranked. 20 wins almost certainly gets us in as a Big Ten team and a feel-good story. My only concern is the lack of a quality road win.

The break down holds as I see it.

Wins over Nebraska & Northwestern at home up to 2- bridge jumper games

A couple losses to Purdue & Maryland on the road- playing with house money games

A split of the Michigan games at MSG and home up to 3 got dealt 2 aces happy with a black jack and a loss for an overall win.

Take 2 of 3 home games vs. Illinois. Purdue and Maryland up to 5 – Need to make hay games and earn our keep

Find a road win at Iowa, Ohio State, Penn state or Wisconsin up to 6 – got dealt a 14 or 15 on 4 different hands and hoping for a good 6 or 7 to have a winning hand. Overtime losses mean nothing here it is still a loss.

2 in the books on the plus side, 4 more wins for the invite

the 20 wins includes a win ( Caldwell College) which for all intensive purposes is a glorified high school ...that win does not count so we need to win 21 ...that means to be safe here...just beat those guys in maize and blue on Thursday... hey I am a died in the wool Rutgers person so I want this as much as anyone.

Here’s what I don’t understand about the Caldwell game. How is it any different than playing a D1 bottom feeder that we would have destroyed anyway? Would an extra Q4 win have mattered to our NET score?

The way I see it, we have 20 wins, of which 19 are D1 wins which are good enough to give us a NET ranking strong enough for the big dance.

Ok so we should make hotel reservations next Sunday night after the selection show got it. Like the weather things can change both negatively and positively. I saw the latest dumb *** thing is if we have a bad loss Thursday we ‘ re screwed.
