Also…fill Carver for the next two games. I’m headed to SC game from WDM.

Tough schedule but also lots of opportunity. Iowa could definitely use more q1 wins.
Also any wins vs Q1 and 2 means a lot more for the NET and tourney resume than wins vs Q3 & 4 teams.I'd rather see that then a bunch of Q3/Q4 games. A few losses won't ruin tournament hopes whereas one or two Q4 L's would.
2-0 start, but both closing stretches were as shaky as could be.Not saying they will, but there is very little reason the Hawks can't go 6-0 in these next six games.
vs RUT
vs USC
@ ORE
@ WASH
vs NW
@ MD
The only game that is a bit concerning is the USC game, due to their length and athleticism. Baker-Mazarra will be a handful.
Was watching the PU@USC game earlier and USC gave up a ton of open corner 3s. Granted Iowa doesn't have a Clough and other 7' to protect the paint against, but with the right actions and ball movement, the Hawks should be able to find some open shots as well.
"Note to self"? lol j/k. We have Nebby twice, Mich once at home, and the Broilers at home. Take care of business with teams we expect to beat, and maybe get one or two from the heavy hitters. Good opportunities coming.2-0 start, but both closing stretches were as shaky as could be.
(USC game is quite likely an Iowa loss if Trojan freshman doesn't have his head up his butt at the end of regulation)
Work on closing out games better and that 6-0 prediction is still absolutely possible.
As I was saying........19 wins needs to be the floor.
NUFFIN besides a Natty and they go undefeated from here on outAlso…fill Carver for the next two games. I’m headed to SC game from WDM.
Agreed. Much better close out tonight on the road against a team having a bad year, but one that still seemed to be competing.2-0 start, but both closing stretches were as shaky as could be.

Maryland is bad.. But all road games make me a little nervous. At Maryland always scares me for some reason.
Tampa one of eight first round locations.Agreed. Much better close out tonight on the road against a team having a bad year, but one that still seemed to be competing.
If Iowa ended up down here, I think I might have to find a way to get to the game(s).Tampa one of eight first round locations.
Oklahoma City is my first choice. Obviously St. Louis would be great but I don't see that happening. After Oklahoma City, Tampa is my next choice. After attending six bowl games and several vacations in area, I somewhat know my way around. If Iowa ended up down here, I think I might have to find a way to get to the game(s).
Seems like the selection committee always sends Iowa off to Timbuktu somewhere to play their opening round games. About the lone exception I can remember is them playing in Minneapolis back in '91.Oklahoma City is my first choice. Obviously St. Louis would be great but I don't see that happening. I was there in 91. Also 1986.Seems like the selection committee always sends Iowa off to Timbuktu somewhere to play their opening round games. About the lone exception I can remember is them playing in Minneapolis back in '91.
Where we had the privilege of playing Duke in round 2 who won the natty that year. That was neat.Seems like the selection committee always sends Iowa off to Timbuktu somewhere to play their opening round games. About the lone exception I can remember is them playing in Minneapolis back in '91.
I like your optimism, but even at home beating Purdue and Nebbie will be a tall order. I am seeing 21-10, which will still far exceed my expectations for Ben’s first year.7-4/17-5.
vs NW = W
@ MD = W
vs PU = W
vs NEB = W
@ Wisky = L, but could go either way (F* WISCONSIN!!!!!!!)
vs OSU = W
@ PSU = W
vs UM = L, but chance it could go either way
@ NEB = L, but could go either way
13-7/23-8 going into the BTT.
And the next year when they won National Championship again.Where we had the privilege of playing Duke in round 2 who won the natty that year. That was neat.
With better legs and fully recovered from the flu bug, Iowa either wins @ PU or forces the Boilers to hit a buzzer-beater to win it.I like your optimism, but even at home beating Purdue and Nebbie will be a tall order. I am seeing 21-10, which will still far exceed my expectations for Ben’s first year.![]()
You still have Fran syndrome on your brain, let Dr Ben McCollum help you with that, the therapy is painless......I like your optimism, but even at home beating Purdue and Nebbie will be a tall order. I am seeing 21-10, which will still far exceed my expectations for Ben’s first year.![]()
That first half last night certainly didn't help those of us that still have "Fran Syndrome".....difference is Ben knows how to make halftime adjustments and we clamped down, which was awesome to see.You still have Fran syndrome on your brain, let Dr Ben McCollum help you with that, the therapy is painless......
I agree. Win the next 2 and get back into the T25 most likely. However, that final 7 is a tough stretch, and while anything is possible, I just don't see them doing better than 2-5 or maybe 3-4. Hope they can finish top 8 and get the double-buy for the BTT.I like your optimism, but even at home beating Purdue and Nebbie will be a tall order.
