If we could get 1st half vs UCLA for two halves @ The Barn, Iowa wins by 25-30ish.
Saw that coming when I did my picks. Barn has beat a lot of good Iowa teams. I thought we’d pull out a close one.

We can't beat Minnnesota, we need to seriously recalibrate our expectations for the season.
Welp, the boys let me down in the first of my "won't lose" games by not really showing up in the first half - save for Howard, Coop and Combes.

UCLA has to be wondering how they didn't finish off the comeback a week and a half/2 weeks or so ago.
Agree but not even sure they can do 8-12....lets face it Iowa is a MAC team playing in the BIG.....that is what Ben brought in....

I count five almost lock losses. It’s looking pretty glim right now to make it back to the tournament.
I'm in this boat. If you made me guess I'd say they don't make it. 7-7 would put Iowa at 19-12 and 9-11 on the league. I think they'd dance at that. You go 8-12 in the league which is 18-13 or worse I'm saying no. Maybe an 18-13 Iowa that's 8-12 gets a first four bid with the right wins. They absolutely need Q1 and road wins.
It’s not like they’ve been playing at Rutgers on the road every night. Sure, the Minnesota game shouldn’t have happened, but the other 3 road games are at Michigan State, Iowa State and Purdue. They play with the same effort as tonight, the wins will come.
Not saying they will, but there is very little reason the Hawks can't go 6-0 in these next six games.

The only game that is a bit concerning is the USC game, due to their length and athleticism. Baker-Mazarra will be a handful.
Was watching the PU@USC game earlier and USC gave up a ton of open corner 3s. Granted Iowa doesn't have a Clough and other 7' to protect the paint against, but with the right actions and ball movement, the Hawks should be able to find some open shots as well.

Looking at the schedule, this might be the most important stretch of the season because the games are so winnable. But not only that, we'll have two likely still top 10 teams coming to town in Purdue and little red. We need to take at least one of those games at home.

My hope is that Ben and his players have learned a great deal from that rough stretch of losses. They looked the part yesterday. We know they'll compete. That comment yesterday that he'd never loss 6 games in a season and not lost more then three games in a row since 2013 says alot about a coach no matter at what level he's coaching.

There would be worse ways to spend some time leading up the Final Four run.
I don't think that game @ WASH is an automatic, either. That's a quad 1 road game (62 in the NET) on the west coast. Those west coast games always seem a little tricky for teams that have to make the long trip out there.
Just need to get to the point where they are not on the bubble. Looks like Kentucky and North Carolina are going to be bubble teams. I don't want Iowa on the bubble with them come Selection Sunday.
It is time for a run. One game at a time boys but the opportunity is there to cement your position in the tourney. That can do this!
