It’s fair to discuss it. They didn’t have to go on for 10 minutes and not show any on field clips and not talk about his on field skill set.
We got a John Cohen quote, 4.0 GPA, “Can’t judge someone by something they did when they’re 18”
Thats about all you can ask for.
You're to close to this. ESPN is an entertainment company, Trey Wingo isn't Walter Cronkite and the coverage isn't FOR Simmons or his family, or even Mississippi State fans. The vast majority of NFL fans watching this don't know who the hell Jeffrey Simmons is. I'm sorry, it's relevant. They had to talk about it? Ok.
Did they have to have it qued up the minute his name was called and
Talk about nothing else?
All you defenders still buy the clarion ledger.

Saying they didn't have to show the video, also fair. However, his night isn't ruined. He's missing a full year of a 5 year contract because of an ACL tear and still went in the 1st, and his signing bonus just made him an overnight millionaire even if he turns out a bust. Congrats to him. I think he turned it around and probably came out a better person. That makes me proud, because I feel like most men in that situation don't. He's going to have to defend it for a long, long time though, and I think he should have to.
So, do you think it would have been equal coverage had this been Ole miss? I think I know your answer.
Forever.
I thought that was pretty fair. I didn’t know there was a history of altercation between the woman and his mom.
