You can easily deny it as the thread was deleted an hour ago. Wow, you are more pathetic than I imagined. That or you are on drugs half the time you post and don't remember anything you did. I wouldn't be suprised.

Yea I remember quoting you when I say I didn’t because I’m so scared. My God dude, shut up.

Say what the quote was if it bothers you so much so quit quoting me. You’re annoying. Everyone is having this conversation repectfully except two of you. Stop making this place miserable. You’re not the leader.

Ah ok. I don’t have a clue what that’s all about but apparently I’m running from something.

The guy is strange. Always has been.

You could almost understand the haters, if we didn't see the exact same pattern out of Cal's teams 90% of the time.

The NIT year was, of course, horrendous. Last year was a big disappointment in how we finished, but most years we perform at or above where we want the team to be. They act like this is a surprise every season.

I agree with the poster who said Cal needs another title. He does.

But there is not any other coach in the country who would give as good a shot at one as consistently as Cal does. I wouldn't trade him for anyone. Period.

Actually Cal at UK has been 100%. His team improves like crazy.

Only reason 13 didn't was because of injury to noel. But right before the injury, we we're doing okay and was ranked in top 25.

If not for the injury to Noel, I would argue we would have finished in top 20 by season end.

Cals ability to be consistently good with the type of system he has is the reason he’s in the HOF.

I think thats attributed to how he demands all of his teams to play elite defense. and its when the freshmen eventually buy into committing to defense is when we see the big transformations. As good as he's been if he could get in an assistant known for offense/shooting.... we'd elevate to an even higher level..... I'd call it F. U. Duke and coach K...eat our azz level.

Smh. Why do you think he needs offensive assistant coach?

Cals teams are ususally the most improved teams from start to finish. Especially defensively. That’s why he focuses so hard on it and waits for offense to come around late. Thus ugly games.

By contrast K focuses on his offensive system a lot more and that’s why Duke always looks to have better rythm offensively. Duke gets the zebras too, so he doesn’t have to worry about defense as much. They’re allowed to foul. Just look at Jones this year. Gives players no room for movement at all. In the age of freedom of movement, he should have 3 fouls by halftime.

K has employed the “I dare you to foul them all out” strategy this year because he’s not getting any time to work on defense. It takes him longer to have teams doing it. He’s just an offensive guy.

To be fair 10 losses looked reasonable if we kept playing like we did in December. It's easy to forget how rough we looked early.
It's apparently also easy to forget that nobody has more tourney wins than Cal over the past decade (except maybe K?), so if you're stressed in December over his team, then your threshold for stressing out is way too low.

Few things in life are a safer bet than Cal righting the ship by March.

What amazing "sure things" are you guys betting on in life that Cal's track record makes you uneasy about what's to come?

Go freak out about some actual unknowns - like basically any other coach's results, relatively speaking.

We should be a better shooting team than what we are ... we're just not consistent in that area. Also we could do a lot better than Barbie and I think replacing him with someone known for coaching shooting would be a good idea.

I'm not saying Cal is bad at offense ...

lol. I rememeber the offensive coordinator posts.

Not from me. I've always been a Gran supporter and a defender. Go look up my posts from the season and you'll find me telling everyone to chill because Gran built up our RB's.

Irish a lot of this comes down to a national title. Cal needs a second ring and most people including myself watch to see if we have a title team or not. If Cal had won in ‘15 a lot of this wouldn’t be happening. Right or wrong I think that’s just how it is.

My biggest issue is Cals “coaching for March” style. We play some of the ugliest basketball half the time. It does get old especially when I don’t really believe he has to. But maybe he does it’s just my opinion.

Cal seems to be coaching for February now... Go CATS!!! Pumper galore...

Here we go. Man, can’t some of you make a pumpers thread on the paddock where the rest of us can discuss different things without disrespecting your man crush?

Just stroll over and make a thread devoted to one sided conversation. I will not post in it and tell you you’re stupid. I don’t care enough. I’m not arrogant. Maybe you’re right. But it doesn’t entertain me. So go ahead and quit quoting us when we’re just shootin the sht.

Cal’s average W/L per season are right in line with the best coaches in the nation since he took over at UK. Even in his (relative) “downswing” over the last couple years, he’s still right there in the elite group.

So from a pure results perspective, there’s really not much to reasonably gripe about regarding his pre-tourney results. The idea that he only gets things to click around tourney time is a fantasy.

Stop with the Homer Bailey contract killed them nonsense.

Castelleni and the Reds are making money hand over fist. Bob is a billionaire, and he could spend tons of money on salaries if he chose to. Homer has
nothing to do with Bob being a loser owner. If the owner truly wanted to spend money to win, he would.
Having your "ace" going 1-15 is not a killer, especially for $278M? Sorry but that's hard for any team to overcome. As much as I liked Bailey it was obvious that he's not the same after the surgery.

Wrong. The rats jumping ship and the trolls invading happens after every November/December loss. Doesn't matter what happened the previous year. As predictable as anything in nature. I would say it happens much sooner now because the season starts earlier.

Tired of ugly regular seasons. I have gotten to the point where I really don't care to watch anymore because I already know how this is going to play out. We'll struggle most of the year, ugly, disorganized basketball, really struggle on the road, a couple of blowout losses, then come late February we'll start playing better and by mid-March we'll like like a good team but we'll have so many losses from the regular season that we'll be a 5 or 6 seed and get bounced in the second round or S16.
Good call Einstein. Glad you’re enjoying hibernation

Half the people in this town turned on Homer before he got hurt and he had nothing to do with it besides signing the dotted line. They turned on him because he wasn't as successful as Johnny Cueto who was traded instead. Homer had a great arm and 2 no-hitters but his career was hot and cold even before he signed the big deal. Of course he wasn't as easy to trade as Johnny after signing but half the fan base thought they signed the wrong guy the same day it happened.

I’d like him to get three more for his legacy and for all the hard work he’s done! It would put him right there with Rupp!

Exactly. That would be incredible and he's capable of it happening. He's so close all fo the time. All it takes is winning back to back at some point and it's reality.

Nah. Pumpers are actually UK fans. Trolls usually aren’t. Most of the overreacters in this thread are not trolls.

The whole "pumper" thing is so stupid.

Why?

Because you are considered a "pumper" if you think rationally. The majority of time a "pumper" is simply trying to talk a moron off a ledge. The moron isn't thinking rationally, "Cal does this and that wrong", "Will lose all games outside of Rupp", "Gonna lose 12 games before tourney", "Cals lost a step".

It is all just moronic and the rational person is called a "pumper". 4 Final Fours in 9 years...everyone should be a "pumper" for God's sake. How easily people forget the many years before the Cal era...

I dgaf about you and I don’t even know who the hell you are. Stop quoting me, you’re not very bright and your ability to contextualize is awful. I’m sick of listening to it, I give my opinion regardless of how someone feels about it. You’re a pumper. Go pump to your mother maybe she enjoys you.

Cardsstink likes your post that’s all I need to know about you.
What you are is a panic prone doofus, things go wrong for a minute and you want heads to roll, and people who would wash their hands after shaking yours to answer to you. You hate fans who don't fall apart over and over again because they highlight your lack of loyalty. And bringing someones mother into a sports disagreement show your true character, which is poorly lacking. I'm sure you're a true fan, but that doesn't mean you don't suck at it.

The rats and trolls want the act of supporting the team, players and coaches somehow to be a bad thing. It's nonsensical at its core yet they created a nickname that makes them feel better about themselves.

Yeah, I hate that term. Negative posters want to make it a 50/50 deal, when in reality, UK fans on a UK board should be positive about our team.

And you’re right, most of the posters labeled that way are just rational, positive fans. Of course there are some that are a bit over the top, but so what?
