At this point I expect the Reds to suck lol
Winning 70 games would be a huge accomplishment next season. However, they do have a lot of young talent coming up. It's the pitching that is really weak and the huge contract to Homer Bailey really killed them.

Let’s not get carried away.

This team isn’t going to lose 12 games before the tournament. I’m as irritated as anyone, but 8-9 losses before the tournament would be worst case scenario.
The game at UL looks more and more like a loss since they're playing well. I thought they'd be really bad and disorganized this season but it doesn't look that way.

Stop with the Homer Bailey contract killed them nonsense.

Castelleni and the Reds are making money hand over fist. Bob is a billionaire, and he could spend tons of money on salaries if he chose to. Homer has
nothing to do with Bob being a loser owner. If the owner truly wanted to spend money to win, he would.

Comparing Cal to Tubby is unfair. Cal's had 4 Final Four teams in 9 years compared to Tubby'a 1 in 10 years (after inheriting a runner-up team.)

Not over the long haul, of course. But the arrow is definitely pointing sharply downhill.

In Tubby Smith's last 4 years at UK, we lost 36 games and went to 1 Elite Eight.
If Cal loses exactly 10 games this year, he'll have 36 losses over his last 4 years, and probably only 1 Elite Eight as well. If he loses more than 10 -- which is a REAL possibility -- he'll have more losses over his last 4 years than Tubby's last 4 years.

Well for $278M how did he end up this season; 1-14 or something like that? When you pay someone that much money whoever is managing has to use him. Bailey has never been the same since he hurt his arm a couple of years ago and it's probably time to cut him loose in favor of some younger arms coming up. If the Reds got 15 wins out of him, which is pretty good for anyone on that team, they'd be close to a .500 team. How in the world is Castelleni making money off the Reds when they're so miserable?

There is a definite chance of losing 10 games prior to the SEC tournament. We could lose 5 ooc games... losing to UNC , UL, and KU... then 5 road sec games

Tired of ugly regular seasons. I have gotten to the point where I really don't care to watch anymore because I already know how this is going to play out. We'll struggle most of the year, ugly, disorganized basketball, really struggle on the road, a couple of blowout losses, then come late February we'll start playing better and by mid-March we'll like like a good team but we'll have so many losses from the regular season that we'll be a 5 or 6 seed and get bounced in the second round or S16.

Hahaha... how times change around here. This board is the most bipolar group I know lol.

go back to august and see what everyone was predicting after the Bahamas trip.............. its a novel concept but many people react to how the team is playing at that time.

Who is so pathetic that they spend time searching for old threads so they can rehash them like this? What a loser, get a freaking life.

That overreaction is the same overreaction that happened in December after the Seton Hall game. The sky wasn’t falling in December just like the summer Cats weren’t the Warriors.

Stop digging up old threads.

At least you are consistent.

If we were losing none of these guys would even be here. It works both ways. Pumpers are as bad as trolls imo.

And really, there’s not much difference in a troll and a pumper. The outcome is the same. Bickering and fighting and one trying to one up the other. Just comes down to how the team performs which neither can predict.

Nah. Pumpers are actually UK fans. Trolls usually aren’t. Most of the overreacters in this thread are not trolls.

Irish a lot of this comes down to a national title. Cal needs a second ring and most people including myself watch to see if we have a title team or not. If Cal had won in ‘15 a lot of this wouldn’t be happening. Right or wrong I think that’s just how it is.

My biggest issue is Cals “coaching for March” style. We play some of the ugliest basketball half the time. It does get old especially when I don’t really believe he has to. But maybe he does it’s just my opinion.

I don’t believe pumpers are really “UK” fans right now. We’ve had pumpers wish for Cal to leave to prove a point. We have pumpers who really don’t care after we lose. A pumper in 2019 is a little more or less a Cal fan not necessarily a “UK” fan. I do believe they like UK, I just think they get caught up in a war that’s stupid and it turns them into a supporter of a guy in the seat instead of the program.

Gets old compared to which coach UK has had? And Cal needs a second ring? What UK coach besides Rupp has two rings? You have seemed like a big Joe Hall fan (with good reason) but Joe in 13 years had one title and 3 final fours.
