Great to get the W. Somebody let me know when I can start worrying about our free throwing ability.

Ain't that the truth. Game should not have been this close. I think we were 14/27. Should have been a 20 point win.

My thoughts exactly! Hit our free throws and it's not even close and this is a very decent team we beat tonight. Don't want to be negative after a 10-1 start, but we got to get better at the line before Conference play starts.

I like being 10-1 as a work in progress. If they raise their shooting % on the line and beyond the arch, we will continue to win and steal a couple of wins in the B1G.

We would not have won the Stony Brook game without our 10-10 stretch from the foul line. So it actually won us a game before it cost us a game. I do agree though, 14-27 is troubling.

We have won in more different fashions this year then I can remember, which shows the signs of a well coached team! I think we have seen enough games to know our weaknesses. Outside shooting and free throws. If we hit our 3"s it covers us for the poor free throws. If we hit our free throws it covers us for the missed 3"s. We would all love to have them both working well at the same time, but that is not the case so far.

After the game they mentioned Corey and a few others have been sick. So hopefully that might have been part of it. Trying to find any excuse. They have to step it up from the line.

I posted a while ago that even Eddie's team went 5-0 against the terrible teams on last year's schedule. But, to go 10-0 against those type of teams without a WTF loss is impressive and a credit to the staff and players.
The improved coaching is obvious and the team continues to buy in and get better. I'm excited to see how the team performs in the next 3 games on he road. It's a very tough stretch against a mid major team, a top top–tier Big East team that will definitely make the tourney and the favorite to win the Big 10 conference. Win more than one of those games and the sky is the limit!

Sanders and a few others battling bad colds, get them some chicken soup and hot tea and some rest the next few days.

Keep the momentum going with a W over Fordham this weekend and then we have an 11-1 team ready to battle in-state rival Seton Hall on the 23rd in Newark.

St. Johns was the terrible team that we lost to, last year.

Actually, the free throw shooting was worse: 14 of 29 for 48%.

You can't miss 15 free throws a game and expect to become a relevant factor in the Big Ten. You just can't! Now let's get to 11-1 (which I do expect) and hopefully things will improve from there. Pike has them playing and it's fun to watch. Progression is the key!

I am just happy with the record to date. I am looking forward to tomorrow night's Court Club meeting and than Fordham at MSG on Sunday. On Friday I will go to Linden's opener vs. Westfield. I love this time of year with all of the basketball going on.

True. But, it was a road game and at the time we played them their rating was way higher than the FDU's and Morgan States of the world. Plus, as bad as SJU was last year, they still finished the season with a KenPom rating of 210, which I believe is higher than any team we beat this year except DePaul.

Team is finding ways to win overcoming FT shooting, or hot (3) pt shooting team and finding ways to tough out wins. Last year we would be fortunate to have 7 wins right now. Love this team desire and toughness. Freeman was especially tough last night!!
