If we beat Tennessee at home then we definitely have a chance but the road against them can be our only loss

Nope. VA has inside track. If I had to predict it will be Duke, Gonzaga, MSU, and VA

Maybe. But Virginia has to host Duke. They both play Carolina. Duke already lost to Syracuse.

Way too much basketball to play to declare 2 ACC teams and no SEC teams. If Virginia does have the inside track, they begin to forfeit it with another loss to Duke. A Duke loss to Virginia makes their situation more precarious. Either UK or UT sweeping the other would build a very strong case.

6 ranked opponents left on the schedule, no. 1 team twice, 3 of those games on the road. All other games will be against hungry SEC teams with nothing to lose.

A two is very realistic and even probable. A one won’t be impossible but it’ll be REALLY hard. I still expect to lose a game or 2 they shouldn’t and (hopefully) split with Tennessee.

Going to be awfully tough to get a #1 seed this year. Tennessee, Michigan State, Duke, Virginia, Michigan, Gonzaga and Kansas are all in the mix.

Yes I know we beat Kansas but we also won at home.

If the committee keys in on the pure numbers of quad 1 wins than we are way behind a lot of these teams still.

We will have a number of chances to get quad 1 wins on the road but those are the toughest to get.

Figure that 1 of Michigan State/Michigan will get a 1 seed unless they both struggle down the stretch.
Figure 1 of Duke/Virginia will get a 1 seed and possibly both if they just both keep on winning.
Really we would have to beat out Tennessee and with them having 1 loss and us 3 we would almost need to sweep them which I don't think is likely.

I think our ceiling is #2 seed this year which is still great especially if we knock off Tennessee at home and they drop the the last #1 seed go out West and leave us the Louisville region as the #2 seed. Only downside that might be Duke as the #1 seed the one team I think we have almost no shot in beating.

Long ways to go let's start by winning at Vanderbilt because I think that game is going to be awfully tough to get and will come down to the wire.

Why does everyone assume Duke, Mich. State, Virginia, or any other team already has a 1 seed wrapped up? They clearly don’t. Any of those teams could lose 2-5 games the rest of the way. Conference games are tough. Games will be lost. The only team that probably could go undefeated the rest of the season is Gonzaga, but that’s because they play no one.

Nope. It will be either Duke or UVa , either UK or UT , Gonzaga and either MSU or Michigan . So the teams that don't get the 1 seeds get the 2's along with Nevada . If I had to guess it will be 1 seeds - UVA Gonzaga UK Michigan 2 seeds - Duke Nevada UT MSU .

Some people always like to paint things in the most negative light possible for UK.

If the CATS win out...maybe one loss...then yes.
Eh that isn't all that important . We just cant have losses to bad teams . If we lose AT UT and at Miss St but share the conference championship with UT ( while playing a much harder in conference schedule ) and get farther then them in the SECT then we would get the 1 seed instead of them.
Though still a little early to talk seeds much I like to wait to Valentine's Day or so .

The reason why the talk has started so early is UK being 5-1 v the top 25 before Feb. and we still could play six more games v the top 25 although Ole Miss prolly drops out as of now.

That year they decided it would be better to stick with geography for us.
Leaving it in the hands of NCAA seeding is always a disaster for us. Hopefully we win out and claim the Lou 1 seed, though I'm not sure even us finishing the best we could is a forgone Lou conclusion. DC is just as good right? *sigh*
