Let’s go three categories

1. Money no object
2. Family vacation
3. Weekend getaway

For me.

1. Did a week long in Vegas. Lots of shows, buffets and sight seeing. Loved Red Rock Canyons

2. We love cruising. Saving up for trip next summer to do Maine/Canada 7 day with my wife and daughter.

3. Sucker for Amish country Lancaster PA. Used to do it with my parents. Great long weekend trip. Can’t beat the food

Went with an ex's family to Vegas when I was <21-y-o. Tons of shows and food and sight-seeing. David Copperfield made a car appear above my head. Definitely a fun trip, although >21 is better than <21. And the fact that you can walk up to the edge of the Grand Canyon and there are no barriers at certain places scares the bejeezus out of me.

Have to say as beautiful as Amish country is I don’t get it (my parents love it though).

For me I just want to relax or take a tour...,.so in celebration of what I like to do I am planning a trip for the fam this summer to the bowels of hell aka Disney....at least we are going to California.

I do a 2 week trip annually to somewhere outside the states, every one of them is different and amazing and I try to see as much of each country as I can.

Taiwan, Peru, Egypt, Guatemala, Belize, Thailand, Cambodia, Greece, Morocco, France/Monaco. I also did a week in Adalucia part of Spain and Gibraltar and hope to go see the rest of Spain again.

For food, Taiwan and Spain are probably the best in the world.

Greece is the most beautiful.

South Africa for the 2010 World Cup then did a week excursion through Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe up to Victoria Falls.

Don't think it will ever be topped.

I figure 1 will change if/when I get to go on safari in Africa.

Have to say, I’ve been to the first three many times as well as many other islands, many places out West, and Europe but I just love LBI. Must just be the Jersey in me.

I’m completely unfamiliar with this. I’ve been through Amish country (without really stopping). What’s the deal with the food? What am I missing out on?

Best Hotel I’ve ever stayed in with best services as well as hospitality is The Breakers in Palm Beach.
Great sightseeing and restaurants within walking distance.
First time there I was in my room for an hour, went to ask concierge a question and was addressed as Mr. Berra.
Went to get my car out of valet, and was told “right away Mr. Berra”
To this day I have no idea how they knew my name.

Had the same exact experience at the Boca Raton Resort & Club.

Morning after I checked in, the concierge saw me in the lobby and said, "Good morning Mr. Berra."

(Actually he used my real last name but couldn't resist the joke.)

1. Italy
2. Any Beaches resort
3. Key West if it's a long weekend and we can fly. So many great cities within driving distance hard to pick one for a short weekend. but I'd go with DC or Kennebunkport or Boston or Philly (note: my kids are grown and out of the house so all weekends are just MrScrew and I)

Money no object, I would love to do a Safari in Africa, see the Elephants, Lions etc

Family vacation, last year we went to Hilton Head. One of the best family trips we had. No complaints about the flight, the condo we rented, proximity to the beach/pool etc... and oh yeah, I played three rounds of golf. Also love the Florida Keys.

Weekend getaway? With the wife or wife and kids?

I'll add a category: Side trip extended from a business trip.

Best was when I had a conference in Scottsdale and stayed out in AZ for 3 extra days and drove up to Sedona and then the Grand Canyon. Incredible natural beauty.

Where have you eaten? Great family style restaurants, buffets, dessert places. When you get tired of that always regular restaurants on route 30

Spring break 1984 my junior year took a van with some friends to Ft Lauderdale for a week. My god that was fun

1) 2 years ago my wife and I went to Europe for 17 days (Italy, France & England). Great time would go back in a heart beat.

2) Last year we went to see the national parks out west (Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Mesa Verde and Arches). Great time and would definitely do it again.

3) Cape May. We have a place down there and go down 4 or 5 times a year and it never gets old.

Best ever was in a South African resort near Kruger Game Reserve called "Singita." It had just opened and due to some unusual circumstances, we got a great deal. https://singita.com/singita-private/ It was beyond amazing and we just kept saying, "We don't live like this."

So that was by far #1. #2 would be the Canadian Yukon, an hour north of White Horse, over Christmas break. The Yukon in winter? Yep. Northern lights, running a dog sled up the frozen Yukon River. Talking to Susan Butcher about the Iditarod. Ski mobile all over creation, and no one in the lodge except me and Moms Skillethead and the two staff to take care of us and cook. Driving a dog sled is incredible fun. Wasn't too expensive.

#3 would be tour of the Galapagos. Did it on a small tour boat. Unforgettable! Also liked Cuzco in Peru, but not the other big cities we visited at the same time.

#4 was Tuscany. Florence, Siena, Venice, and the small 300 year old renovated farm house we stayed at. I'm a big art person, so the Uffizi, and the churches with stunning Renaissance art were amazing.

And then there is my front yard, but have posted those pics too many times already.

1. Ireland-- a beautiful country to tour.
2. Disney (need for money to be no object here too)
3. Weekend getaway to the Jersey Shore can't be beat. I presume driving distance, so Boston or DC could be city alternatives.

Italy. Went on a three week tour of Italy with U. of Wisconsin. It was an art history tour (for credit) full of students and professors from around the country. Italy is a fav spot among people who tour a lot. I think some academic travel with a college is an underrated experience.

Cape Cod - Chatham area

Hamptons in the fall - Amagansett (Stephen Talkhouse a fav spot) and Sag Harbor (American Hotel).

Kauai - America’s paradise simply put. We’ve done the resorts but renting a house on the beach in one of islands most lush, remote areas is sublime.
Edinburgh - Often overlooked gem of a European city. The castle mount, the countryside, the pubs and the golf. It’s a place where you get a real sense of going through history.
Yosemite - Our annual trip of staying in a cabin along a river and in the “outdoor cathedral” known as the Yosemite Valley is priceless.

Let's see:

1. Our beloved St John is always top on our list (still recovering from Irma). But for something new, let's say China. Our daughter wants to see the Terracotta Warriors site and Shanghai Disney.

2. Stone Harbor NJ and WDW. Both are amazing places for families, whether or your children are young or older.

3. Newport RI.

Kuai. Breathtaking scenery , beaches, Waimea Canyon, Kodiak rafts around the coast, snorkeling in Hanalei Bay.

Negril, Jamaica, 30 friends rented a villa, Ziggy Marley played nearby around midnight. YS Waterfalls excursion, sunset catamaran excursions, great beaches with topless Euro chicks, great bars on the cliffs, the obligatory Ricks Cafe to for sunset and watch the cliff divers. Just a cool, relaxed vibe.

West Coast of Costa Rica- Herradura/ Jaco . Family vacation. Stayed at Los Suenos, a Marriot Marina resort. Lots of great scenery nearby eg Rain Forests, Volcanos, Rivers w huge alligators etc. Resort had a fabulous pool complex next to a beach. Had golf carts to take us to the little beach town 1/2 mile down the road. The Golf Course at the Resort backed up to a rain forest, we would take beer and wine, and used the 4 person golf cart to ride to the back of the golf course where the Rain Forest started ,and watch and listen to the colorful birds, and monkeys while having a beverage.

Lake Placid during the Christmas- New Years Eve week. Smaller group of friends renting houses on Mirror Lake. Great town for pub crawls, ice bucket rides down the bob sled run , snow mobile safaris through the state parks, tobagganing, watch the ski jumpers, some of our crowd even skiied a bit, lol. If time permits, an overnight excursion to Montreal, also a beautiful city, sort of like a Paris in North America.
