Hoover used to be a real tough place to hit a HR. Bat changes a little, ball changes a little, fences have come in much like they have at the Dude. I remember when the whole SEC tourney would yield only about 3-4 HRs at the Met. Only the big HR hitters were lucky to get one out. Yesterday, the first 8 teams hit 14 HRs........in one day! I have never seen HRs fly out of this ballpark like this.

I just looked back at MSU 2013 stats. We hit THIRTY home runs with 16 of them by Hunter Renfroe and played in the finals of the CWS. The game has really changed.

At this point, he needs to pitch as long as possible. Our only shot at being a Top 8 is a deep run to Sunday, so save the rest of the pitching staff today or maybe finish with Fowler/Rhodes.
Maybe get big brother to hit a 3 run homer in the bottom of the sixth & get outta here in 7 innings with a 10 run rule win

Still need him for balks, catcher interference, swinging strike calls, etc. Plus time-wise for every pitch with the ABS would slow the game down.

The hope is that umps across the board will get better because they can be challenged. This also helps everyone know the zone and it stays more consistent.
Balks can be called by any umpire in the infield.

Check swings should be able to be called by ABS as well, it always gets appealed to the appropriate foul line umpire anyway.

Catcher interference? Meh….line umps can likely judge that too.

I don’t think it would slow the game at all. You can have the ball / strike call broadcast in realtime over the PA, put on the scoreboard, signaled by another ump with an earpiece, etc. You already have at least 15 secs or so between every pitch with hitters stepping out / back-in, etc.
