ESPNAny websites to follow box scores? SEC site has very limited information.
Yea, if we get good pitching the bats don't do much. Just the way we play.Need to wake the bats up
Yea, really only needed to make safe/out calls at home plate. At this point is the home plate ump superfluous to the operation?
ABS should call all balls and strikes. An ump in the field holds new baseballs. Once every 5 games when there is a close play at the plate just review it... you're going to anyway.

Classic example of how NOT to bunt properly.Jeez, James that was a waste of an AB.
And why bunting is overrated. Even if executed perfectly it's debatable. And so often it's completely 17ed up. One bunting stat that never show up is how many times a batter gets to 2 strikes on a bunt attempt, then swings away and makes an out failing to advance the runner(s). Doesn't go down as a failed bunt attempt, but it's a failed bunt attempt.Classic example of how NOT to bunt properly.
Disagree. It's a useful tool that should have a very high success rate. And how many times have we seen a failed bunt defense attempt that results in a sacrifice going for a hit. Bunting is not hard. We should be able to drop a sacrifice bunt at will. And why bunting is overrated. Even if executed perfectly it's debatable. And so often it's completely 17ed up. Haven't statistical studies been done that show sacrifice bunting actually decreases your chances of scoring because you're giving up an out just to move a baserunner over? So you're giving up 33% of your outs for an inning to move a base runner up 90 feet. Basically if you sacrifice bunt, you're playing to score just one run, which can be useful if it's the bottom of the ninth in a tie game or something, but in the 5th? Suspect. And why bunting is overrated. Even if executed perfectly it's debatable. And so often it's completely 17ed up. You say that. But even at the MLB level, 35-40% of bunt attempts fail. With such a low success rate, and marginal if any increase in expected runs even if successful, bunting it the dumbest play in baseball.Disagree. From Boydsworld. A successful bunt with runners on 1st & 2nd with no outs decreases your expected runs from 1.87 to 1.28.Haven't statistical studies been done that show sacrifice bunting actually decreases your chances of scoring because you're giving up an out just to move a baserunner over? Wasted a chance for a big inning there.Parker loses a challenge and then gets that IS low and can't challenge.

That may have been our worst bat of the year. Fail to move the runners. You're going to fail to get on base pretty much every time. It's why it's called a sacrifice. When you say fail, do you mean fail to move runners or fail to get on base? Or fail to do either?
Weve been sleep walking for half the season. We're sleep walking thus far. Better get our *** in gear because they've got nothing to lose.
Still need him for catcher interference. Batter interference, HBP. Foul tip on strike 3. Fouls at the plate off the batter. Plus a few more. Plenty for him to do besides call balls and strikesAt this point is the home plate ump superfluous to the operation?
