I get Goodale says some funny stuff but not bad enough to get the heat they are given.
What am I missing? It has to be more than just they are a perennial top 10 team.

1) Its Rutger, not Rutgers
2) Its always fun to lampoon anything in Jerzey
3) The vile posted and displayed by Rutger fans following the Sandusky mess would make even the hard-core denizens of HR blush
4) the hilarity from rucrackers and cruise liner jokes is a gift that keeps on giving

It's starts with not having the guts to call themselves "New Jersey State".
Back in the 80’s we used to relentlessly tease our NJ roommate, about two NFL teams that played their home games in NJ, but refused to call themselves the NJ Jets and the NJ Giant’s.
Lifelong New Jerseyan and Giants fan here and I've never wanted that name change. Same as everyone else I know. It's tradition, and nobody I know takes it as a slight.
BTW, did you also tease Redskins fans at the time why they weren't called the Maryland Redskins?

I really enjoyed watching the duals last year as there were some tremendous individual matches. But, boy did it look like an early season grind. I was glad PSU didnt go. I look forward to watching this year, and will be glad again PSU doesnt go.

At surface level you have DT on stage saying he wanted to put this together for the good of wrestling. I’d say at a deeper look you’d see the success of this directly benefits our biggest rival plus they were joined in this tournament by a number of teams that actively look to move the team national championship to a dual format.
I haven't read anybody dishing **** on the Jets?

If Taylor ever morphs into Tom Ryan or Rob Koll and starts preaching about the need for the NCAA to bless the PayPal NCAA dual team championship then all the singing would have merit.
If that morph ever happens it will most likely be for the same reason Tom and Rob thought it made sense, money.
Until that happens I really wish we could refrain from singing the song. It's almost as annoying as the 2 month long ballard telling the tale that if only Luke could miraculously avoid getting pinned by Bouzakis he might be able to win that match.

John. I saw it as it happened but didn't say anything on the Rutgers board until someone else reported that they had seen it. When they got excoriated by the faithful saying it never occurred, I jumped in and said it wasn't a fabrication and that I had seen it also. I think I was banned shortly after that.
Well, if they only get ten teams to enter, Rutgers will once again be a perennial top ten team!

Now…to be very correct on this….they said Mike Van Brill was an elite wrestler because he had qualified for TWO Big Ten tournaments. At least there is a bar to hurdle.

Fortunately the staff treats DT much more like the rival he is, the guy who openly recruited PSU wrestlers while standing in Lorenzo than posters here. Paycom could pick any day of the year and it wouldn’t work for Penn State. Also widely acknowledged that media (flo) and other top programs want the team championship to be awarded in a dual tournament format. Fortunately PSU taking their stand basically strangled it in the crib.

Of course, if the NCAA did decide to crown their team champion in a dual tournament format it would be the property of ESPN. Not PayPal.
