Then, if money was my primary concern, I would go ahead and choose the school offering me the extra million. Seriously. If money is the objective the choice is even easier — take the money. It doesn’t take days or weeks. That **** is just for attention.

It was UK, UConn and Bama and we were told his agents preferred UConn or Bama. UConn bows out, we were told it was down to UK and Bama. Bama bows out. Now his agents are pushing him towards St. John’s or Tennessee? What will it take for Mark Pope to get a clue?
After what spent last year. He has less this year. Pope can't get into a bidding war, considering what he has spent already on returning players, the two he just signed, and how many more roster spots he needs to fill.

Pope is blowing it should have closed the deal on Rancik first. Pope needs to hire a used car salesman that understands negotiations and communication when it comes to dealing with agents and players.

All true things you said, but what I’m saying is he should have realized Freeman was never coming here unless we overpaid greatly.

Unfortunately, “my entertainment” are showing me they aren’t the type of people I would ever choose to have in my life. They don’t share the same values I do. They make me question why I still support them.

We don't know where this is going, but some of you have the most negative spin.

Maybe Freeman wants to be here , but is trying to juice his offer as much as possible before signing.

Many people would do the exact same thing if they were in Freeman's shoes.

Maybe, Freeman has a greedy agent. Freeman is ready to sign but his agent has him playing games to drive up his offer which puts more money in the agent pocket

There is a chance Freeman goes elsewhere, but there is also very much a chance he ends up at UK.

So, he may want to play here or he may not. He may want to get more money, or maybe his agent wants more money. We may get him or we may not.

Mo D didn’t fit great here but he’s good enough to retain instead of dealing with filling every roster spot. He will be great at St John’s though.
Makes sense for him at SJU as he is from Queens. Also Rick P would get the most out of him IMO. But I thought he was going to Texas Tech? I can't keep up with this **** anymore!

I used that just to talk about agents representing the transfers. The agents are a big part of the problem.
It’s not you. It’s the ridiculousness of all these anon accounts taking advantage of fans by lying for engagement.

Good on Pope if he stipulated a minimum games clause.
Should be the standard across the board. It’d be great if there was legislation passed that forced the issue. You either play a certain amount of games or you get nothing. At the very least you only get the percentage of games you played and postseason sit outs really cut your play. I bet JQs knee would have been totally fine at that point.
People like jay bilas will whine and say it’ll force players to play hurt. Well good, they’re grown men. You want the pay then you play.

It’s nobody’s fault but congress at this point. You can’t get mad at the ncaa anymore when everything they try to do just gets struck down by local judges.
until congress steps in and passes so common sense stuff this will continue.

How can congress pass anything that also won't get struck down by judges? The source of the problem is and always will be the ncaa for not enacting common sense, TRUE NIL, from the beginning. Saying it is somehow congress at fault is silly.

You do understand that congress makes the laws that judges follow, correct? Not sure if you’re familiar outside the reservation.

A good agent won't allow their client to sign a contract where, if they get hurt, they don't get paid. I don't like it, but the agent is looking out for the guy if this is true. Also, I don't want to be known as the school that does that. Every agent will stay away.
The Bengals were trying to put that clause in rookie contracts last year which is why first round pick Shemar Stewart held out last year.

The sad thing is, even with Rancik/Freeman, Kentucky probably still isn’t in the top 3 in the SEC and maybe even if we picked up Stokes I wouldn’t even think we’re the preseason favorites.

CMP is working on such a slim margin of error that losing both Rancik and Freeman without pulling off a miracle like Momcilovic will probably lead us to struggling to stay in the top half of the SEC.

I hate to say it definitively, since anything can change the outcome, even miracles, but CMP might be a dead man walking if he whiffs on both Rancik and Freeman.

You gotta pull off Freeman, coach. Your future likely depends on it.
Momcilovic would be the Bengals equivalent of getting Dexter Lawrence instead of drafting a cornerback from Tennessee with the 10th pick who tore his ACL and missed half the season.

It’s simple at this point.
If pope gets stoke and freeman he has a shot at doing something. I don’t think it’s anywhere near a final four team but it might buy him another year.

if he gets one of them I think he makes the tourney but it’s just a repeat of last year.

if he gets neither then everything will burn to the ground

my preference ..... Rancik over Freeman, would love for him to reconsider if he hasn't signed yet
Anything can happen. Mensah got out of his deal with Duke to sign with Miami.

Moreno will be an All SEC player and Williams will be better. You're looking at last year and not factoring in organic improvement from the existing players. Noah could be another Tom Kleinschmidt.

Moreno will have to bust his *** in the weight room this summer or get pushed around again. His season next year will be defined solely off how much work he puts in. He has a long way to go before he’s dominant. I’d say it’ll be another year similar to last year imho.
As for Noah he’s here because of the nil deals he gets. Nothing more. He was more likable than Perry and got more things going for him. He would never make at another school what he is here. I think you’ve seen his peak or close to it in the court.

If Moreno scores less than 10 ppg again this team is in trouble. I look for at least 15-16 ppg from him.

Then we are better off getting neither. Stop delaying the inevitable. Pope can't coach. He gets down double digits so much and doesn't game prep. Also 14 losses by double digits, including both ncaa tournament losses.
