Crime 101 is one of those movies where you wake up the morning after asking yourself “How the hell can you explain this away?” Spoiler: you can’t.

But it’s fun. The fact that it’s 88% Tomatometer says a lot.
That’s too high of a tomato ratio for a proper BLT.

One of my all time favs and all time great films, IMHO

I often wear my “The Dude Abides” t-shirt at the gym. I’ll go up to my buddies, point to each word in turn, “The Dude Abides,” give them two thumbs up, that always gets a laugh. It’s a good shirt, when wearing it I look bigger than I actually am.

It’s a good movie. The spreading of the ashes, omg funny. Walter called it, who knew.

It’s on Peacock, may have to watch it tonight in honor. My son and wife went to Iceland a few years ago and they went to The Lebowski Bar in Reykjavik.

I’ve been watching Chris Guest films on Netflix: Best in Show > Waiting for Guffman > A Mighty Wind. So freaking funny, a treat to see the actors change from film to film. Parker Posey, in particular, amazing range, incredibly impressive.
my wife turned me on to those a few years ago, love them!

Saw a premier of Project Hail Mary last night. Fun time at the movies. An old school space epic with Ryan Gosling in a great role. A great story of sacrifice and friendship, visually stunning too! From the same author who wrote The Martian.

That is funny you say that. I didn’t see it yet but was thinking it was the movie Martian but with a rock. Or is it like castaway except rock for Wilson.

More like those films except with an ET engineer.

Anyone watching Cross on Prime? I'm up to episode 5. So far I like it. Aldous Hodge is very good as Alex Cross and Isaiah Mustafa as his partner Sampson is pretty good as well.
Hodge would have also made a good Easy Rawlins from the Walter Mosley series.
Like the book they meet a lot at Bens Chili Bowl. Alway's wanted to try that place. 🤷‍♂️

I was a fan of the first few books but then James Patterson became the Thomas Kinkaid of the litterary world and started knocking off books with other writers and well I got bored with his 2 paragraph chapters. :ROFLMAO:
Give the Easy Rawlins series a try.
Huh. Nice analogy.

I have similar feelings. I also liked the first few books, but then I started to feel like I was reading the same book over and over again.

I watched Is This Thing On? last night on Hulu. It was extremely slow, and I found myself fighting to stay away. That was a fight I ultimately lost.

I have tried to watch The Secret Agent on Hulu, a nominated film. Brazilian with subtitles starring Wagner Moura in post dictatorship Brazil. Extremely slow and weird Brazilian stuff so I gave up on it plus it’s 2.5 hrs long. Not my cup of tea.

The Peaky Blinders ‘The Immortal Man’ is pretty good so far; about halfway through. Some nice additions to the main cast with Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, and Barry Keoghan, but I miss the regulars. Will be interesting to see how they continue the show given the events thus far in the film.

Update: Hated this. Not sure what else to say other than if you're going to gift your fans a film after six seasons, make it worthwhile. This is not that. So sad given all the talent and effort involved, but wish they would have just left things as is with the regular series finale. No spoilers here, but if others watch and want to get into it, I'm game. 2/10.

I will have to check it out because I'm a big Peaky Blinders fan, but your review is not encouraging! Usually your recommendations are spot on, Midnighter. The only one I can remember having a strong opposing viewpoint from you was the most recent season of True Detective.

I'm as big a fan as there is of the show and it's just such a kick in the nuts. Obviously, the cast and production are top notch - it's the story that blows.
