Not a bad draw. We've beat those two already and due against Bama.
When Florida beats us on Saturday & if Georgia wins at Mississippi St, we'll be tied with Grorgia at 10-8, the other likely ties at 10-8 could be Vandy, A&M & Missouri which we lost to all of them, in that 5 way tie we're 1-4 which would put us in 9th place & playing on Wednesday.Anyone smarter than me have a way to explain where the Cats could be seeded in the SEC tournament? Alot of teams with 7 or 8 losses. I know a bye is still in play but not sure what needs to happen.

Figured it out . All we need for the double bye:
We beat Florida
LSU beat A&M
Arkansas beat Missouri
Vandy beat UT
We got this. No problem!
I know you are being facetious but the four teams with a double bye are locked inFigured it out . All we need for the double bye:

I think we win a couple of games in that draw
You’re right. Looked at it wrongWe don't need LSU to beat A&M, we just need the other 3
Your edit is correctI know you are being facetious but the four teams with a double bye are locked in
Edit: maybe not if Vandy beats TN
Here’s the toolThere's so many scenarios is almost to me isn't worth the effort in figuring it out haha. So many teams bunched on 9, 10 and 11 wins lol.
I think we can finish anywhere between like 3rd and 10th haha
This is helpful.Here’s the tool

Because of all-time wins, I'm hoping we beat Florida and get as few byes as possible. This is helpful.
Thanks.
At this point I'm just really hoping we can one bye lol. It might not be the worst thing in the world in terms of building a resume for the tournament. That Thursday game should be another winnable game on the schedule.
Same. Any noise we make will be welcome but I won’t be crushed if we lose to Dikhead State. I will remember how confident I felt last summer and will likely do it again next season though. Like an idiotI have never been less interested in our post season prospects, SECT and NCAAT than this year. It feels a lot like apathy.
Just wait until year 3
Being 10th in the SEC after going 6th last year should be a fireable offense at a school like Kentucky.
I’m concerned about that. Kansas is helping. They lost again. Still stands at gained 2 wins on us this season.Because of all-time wins, I'm hoping we beat Florida and get as few byes as possible.
Then we have a legit shot at not having to play until Friday. Those other two gms are at Noon and 2 so UK will know at tip at 4 or shortly after if they have a shot at the double bye.We don't need LSU to beat A&M, we just need the other 3
That should sadden an UK fan if that actually comes to fruition.
If we are going to play on Wed, I would much rather be the 10 than the 9 based on the current projections.

Neither 6th or 10th should be acceptable for Kentucky. Cal only went lower than 4th once. And the excuses about the SEC being harder don’t fly when Pope probably has had the most expensive roster in the conference both years.Eh it's not good but the difference between these teams is litterally 1 game.
Where I have some major quetisons regarding our future with Pope anyways, going 10-8 in the SEC vs 11-7 really shouldn't be the deal breaker lol.

Excuses. That’s all you have. For a lot of those Cal years, the SEC wasn't nearly what it is now.
As far as the NIL stuff, we don't know what the other schools spent. We don't even know if what was reported that we spent is entirely accurate.
Having a high payroll in sports certainly helps, but it doesn't garanttee anything. Ask the New York Yankees in the last decade or so lol.
Excuses are different than reasons. There are lots of factors that go into what place a team finishes, especially when that finish is partly due to tiebreakers. Obviously how good the team is, is the BIGGEST factor, and honestly we are what we are (probably a 10-8 SEC team). Others include how good the coach is, injuries, how good / evenly matched the league is, what teams you play twice, what teams you play on road vs at home, and when do you play teams (i.e. when they have a key guy out, after a big win, or after a bad loss, before a rivalry game, etc...).Neither 6th or 10th should be acceptable for Kentucky. The last of those is way too much to get into, but it is probably the smallest of the factors I listed.
Even Road vs Home is a lot to get into.
How good the coach is, is quite subjective, so not getting into that one.
What teams you play twice is a factor that goes against UK this year (playing Florida, Vandy & UT twice, all 3 top 25 teams). No other SEC can say that.
Injuries is also obviously a strike against us this year, playing most of our SEC schedule without 3 expected key players.
And the league is quite good and evenly matched, we could see 10 of the 16 teams finish 10-8 or better.
